EDIT: Crash bypassed.

Hello!

I have had a rather long and very fun and intensive game as Rome. I'm afraid I hit a wall though.

* Which version are you playing? EB 1.0 with BI-EXE. It crashes with RTW 1.5 too

* Do you have any unofficial mods installed? Yes, TWFanatics First Cohort mod, chocolate version.

* Have you applied all the permanent fixes for 1.0? Yes. All the other ones too.

* Does it still crash if you do not enable the background script? Yes.

* Have you tried it 3 times or more, with consistent crashes? Yes.

It crashes just after I hit the next turn button, without the turn passing to any other faction, or so it seems. I have tried cancelling all structures due for the next turn, but it still crashes.

I have had about five or so other crashes during the game so far, but none of them have been consistent.
Stupidly enough, I don't have any saves to revert too. I guess I have to think about that in the future.

Looking at it again... I'm not familiar with the first cohort mod, but fear I can't investigate as it's probably not savegame compatible with the regular EB.

I believe it is fully save game compatible. Either way, I installed the mod long after I had started the campaign.

-Cohortes Evocata defense skill and morale increased +1
-Cohortes Praetoriana and Cohortes Evocata pilum attack reduced -1
-Elephants balanced and improved.
-Chariots balanced and improved.
-Macedonian phalanxes: -2 spear attack, -1 sword attack, -3 armor, + 1 defense skill, +1 shield defense.
-Classical (Hoplite) phalanxes: -2 spear attack, -1 armor, + 3 shield defense, +2 charge bonus; given short_pike attribute; given spear attribute
-Gaesatae and Tindanotae armor reduced from 5 to 3.
I expect savegame compatible.

-Prima Cohortes Reformata and Prima Cohortes Imperatoria added. Aquilifers added as officers in the First Cohort.
-Praetorian cavalry removed
I expect savegame incompatible

You may very well be right.

But if so, then the savegame I posted should not be effected since I installed the mod after I had started the campaign?

Anyway, thanks for taking your time with this. I was hoping that it could perhaps be fixed, but I guess it's better to just forget about it. I will save at intervals next time.

Thanks for a great mod.

I'll run it sometime though, but it's going to be pretty far down the (long!) list.

It crashes just after I hit the next turn button,...I'd suggest you disable autosave and see if it still crashes. This would provide us with a potentially useful piece of information.

Success!

I did disable autosave, but when I loaded up the game I noticed something else. I had recently sacked Vindobona and left the city. It was at 0% order, and I remembered reading somewhere that disorderly cities could cause crashes. Anyway, I found a diplomat and gave the city away. After that it worked fine.

I have played about 10 turns without any problems, so I consider the problem solved. I'll turn on the autosave function again and see if it will work. Surely, it must have been the city?

Still a rebellion CTD, huh? At least they're getting rare.
