Two things:

First. Don´t know if anyone believes what I´m saying, but the most important thing is, that I know myself having a licence for this game.

But I bought the game used. I knew there wouldn´t be a manual with the game, so my own stupidy is the problem. But, I thought there would be a downloadable PDF-manual for this game? Is there? If there is, could someone tell me where I could find one?

And - if no one knows about that manual, I have some questions about the game. They are really stupid, and they would bright up if I played the campaing more, but I want to know every helpful point of the game from the start of the campaing. So:

1. How can I set the Tax Rating to Automatical? Is it wise to do so?

2. How can I propose alliance? Do I have to search the king with my emissary like in Shogun, or can I propose alliance to the generals or something?

3. What use is taking prisoners in battle? Why shouldn´t I kill them right away?

4. What´s the use to name a general to a governor of a province? Besides it increasing the loyalty of the general.

Thanks. If I can´t find PDF-manual, you can expect me to come back later with more stupid questions.

GAH!

Autotax... to set that, click on the grey edge of the minimap on the campaign. If you notice, its an arrow. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif It will expand the options menu. Check autotax.

You can reclick the arrow (now facing the other way) to close the menu.

Taking prisoners allows you to ransom the captured men back to their owners. If you slaughter your prisoners the dread rating of the army general will increase. If you keep killing prisoners in each battle, the general will get a reputation for being a complete and total bastard and if you go to far, sometimes your own troops will be scared of him and their morale will drop.

BTW When I'm playing England (my home country) I like to crush kill and destroy (and execute prisoners). Hey anyone who has watched a hollywood movie knows that the English make the best bad guys right?

I would like to know if they have a PDF-manual as well. Hopefully more detailed then the one I have.

(( I agree the English do make the best bad guys )) Go Brave Heart !!!
