What is your overall opinion about this game? Pros and Cons ....

Pros:
1. Fun
2. Lots of depth
3. Replayable again and again
4. Multi-player
4. Gameplay is diverse. There is 2 different parts to the game. Lots to do.
5. Support. CA seems like they are going to support this game very well.

Cons:
1. The graphics are sub-par compaired to the new games on the market. I know that it is because of the massive amounts of units on the field at once. I have seen a game for the PS2 that is very similar to Total War and it's graphics look nice. I also know that this is for a computer and not a console so it is different.
2. Lack of documentation. Some people like finding things out some don't. Frankly the manual sucks. I don't need to know every little thing about stuff but the manual is very vauge.
3. In game decriptions. The units have fairly nice descriptions the building don't. Games with a lot of in game descriptions feel like they have more depth. Yes the descriptions are just fluff but games like Baldurs Gate where they decribe so much of the stuff in the game just seem like they have more.

In conclusion, this is buy far the best money I have ever spent on a game. I never played Shogun TW and picked this title up blindly. I love it. The pros far out weigh the cons. The game is fun. Which is the most important thing. It has it's shortcomings but all games do. It would cost too much to get a game that has everything. CA did a great job and should be proud.

Man, you stumbled on a real nugget, Red! The last time I hit the jackpot blindly was Dune2. My (rare) impulse purchases are invariably duds.

Yep I did. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif I have been looking for a game like Risk but could never find one that I liked till now. This game has pretty much everything I find interesting and then some. It has also made me look into historical facts and learn something too. I'm one happy customer.

This is a strategy game. The graphics are not subpar for the genre.

Great game, game of the year in my book.
