Before you slander americans of ignorance and stupidity, perhaps you should come to terms with your own arrogance and intolerance.

People in this forum contribute from all parts of the world, and if a large part are Americans, all the better, at least they are enriching their knowledge and interest in Europe's history. Very rarely are they antogonizing or patronizing to anyone else, and certainly to a lesser degree than you are to them at this moment.

And if you want to speak French, go ahead, and those able and willing to respond in french will do so. I come from Montreal, Quebec , where english and french (and every other nationality under the sun) live and coincide in relative peace. Drop your hypocricy and enjoy what the community has to offer, instead of riling yourself up about political nonsense.

go here and grab my mod. It is much more historically correct. I made the French like the were Historically( powerful) and my HRE just can't take so many french invasions at once.

The British lands are just england and Normandy like they should be at this point.

And when your playing the other countries this message will confuse you: The french have an impressivley large army. The size of their forces is unmatched.

Hi all!

I really don't want to flame anyone in this forum. If I was aggressive, it is because I was defending me and France. I have posted things about France, Medieval France (so not OT) and have been flamed. Me and my country.
I don't like it. That's all.

I like Medieval History and I have, I know it, here, in my country, one of the biggest possibility to visit museums and real medieval castles. they are not only pixels on the screen of my computer, they are real, and I live really close to them (4km for the closest).

Hope u understand why I react like that.
Really hope.
(I have nothing vs USA/Americans in general.)

Not to my knowledge. I hope you didn't mind my hilly billy american imitation. I honestly think this is what most of the world thinks Americans are like. Texas is only one state out of 50 so there is no actual sterotype. And if the reputation is from all those John Wayne movies then everyone is gravely mistaken.

And lastly I hope the world doesn't hate us for involment in foreign matters. Last time we abandened the rest the of the world dictators sprouted up like weeds: Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Facist Spain(whats his name?), and resulted in a terrible world war. Now that we are involved in the world there has been no great war but there are still lots of little ones(better trade off in my opinion). And also we feel it is our duty as the world's most powerful nation to act as sort of a police officer in undeveloped countries and to also help those countries that are recovering from war.

Honestly, I have more respect for countries other than the USA, even though I am an American. I find it appalling that so many Americans cannot locate countries on a map - some not even the individual 'states' in their own country! Americans can be very ignorant (myself included at times to be sure, but usually I am just kidding around) and definitely deserve some of the disdain they receive.

I do have a little bit of dislike for France because they are sometimes quite arrogant, much like the USA, but they don't seem to acknowledge it.

As for languages, I've studied French, Latin, Spanish, and a little German and Japanese. My girlfriend has taught me a few phrases of Mandarin and Taiwanese as well.

I regrettably cannot claim to actually speak or write/read any of those languages very well if at all, but that is mostly due to how little I actually get to use any of them in real life. I should be fluent in Spanish and conversational in French and German considering the amount of time I spent with those languages. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

No, but I just looked at the letters and pronounced them outloud. Then I just applied the closest english word and saw if the sentence made sense.
I've been learning German and Spanish for about 3 years. I'm not to good at either but I have learned methods to try and decipher other Germanic or Latin based languages.

Yeah, I read your previous reply and I agree. And I know how close Spanish and French are - I studied both. Italian is somewhat similar as well. French definitely has the toughest pronunciation.
