I was thinking yesterday how EB could be improved with my friend.
Of course we barely found anything wrong with EB, because it's freaking awesome!

However, i started thinking, why Arche Selevkia never became a real longtermn superpower, why the Ptolemaic Empire didn't became a huge empire, why did small kingdoms like Pontos, Pergamon, Hayasdan, Bithynia survive for all this years? Why did Rome conquer everything so easily? Becouse Rome had barely any civil problems for 150 years. The others could resist the superpowers becouse of their civil wars.

There isn't anything in RTW that would be even close to a civil war, that's why we always get only one superpower in the east, which always conquers all others, and has no problems at all.

I remember that in MTW, low loyalty generals would turn rebel pretty quickly, and thus you had to be really careful, about whom you trusted with command.

So what i was thinking, is it possible to make generals that are disloyal rebel? for every faction. Then the game would be much more challenging, and factions would last much longer becouse they would have civil strife to contend first, and only a strong ruler could start a war against a neighbour.

Of course factions like the Romani and Pontos, who didn't have civil wars should have very few disloyal characters, but Seleucia, Ptolemaioi, KH, Macedon, should really have this king of serious problems. I doubt that Rome could destroy so easyli an Arche Seleukia who wasn't shaken by constant civil strife.

Just a loooooooong suggestion:oops:
I don't know if this is possible but..... just a looooooong suggestion:clown:

Que? Rome was one big pile of civil wars and unrest. During the second century BC they had loads of social unrest, which for example paved the way for the military reforms of Marius. After that they had civil wars over and over again.

Anyway, RTW just isn't very suited for simulating civil wars. Unfortunate, since they were so important in history, but that's just the way the game was made. Perhaps EB4 or 5 will be based on a game that better models those things.

Rome didn't have any large civil wars till they became the strongest nation in the world. After they broke the powers of Carthage, Macedon, and Seleucia, the most dangerous rivals, then the civil wars started. Before that rome was quite peacefull
