Hey everytime I've installed EB and tried to play it, the game can't find my RTW in the folder, so I must be installing it to the wrong place. I read the instructions for where you're supposed to install it and whatnot, but I'm not to computer savvy and have had no success, even after trying as many as 4 different methods. If someone could give me an easy-to-follow overview of what to do after you get to the screen in which you give a destination folder for the game or whatever, that would be great. Thanks.

Well it won't get easier than this ~:)

Here we go:

-Ask yourself, where o where did I install RTW? How was that folder called again?
-Then have some inspiration: ask yourself do I have an RTW icon (=shortcut) on my desktop (first thing you see after your PC has been started up, with the clock, the icons the background and all that) ?
-If the answer is yes, there's this little insightful trick you can do:

1) Verify this is indeed part of a candidate RTW install:
a) Run it, when you get to the main menu go to "Options". Look at the version number in the top right corner (could be left corner too, I don't remember which).
b) If that reads 1.5 you have just verified the candidate as being ready to dump stuff onto.
2) Exit RTW.
3) Now when you are back to your desktop you should right click aforementioned icon.
4) A menu should appear, left click "Properties".
5) Pick a piece of paper and a pencil. Write down what it says in "Start in" (if you have an English version of Windows, if you do not have that it's the second one down with beginning with something like "C:\" in the textfield)
6) Check any other mods you may have installed, see if any of them is instaled to the same 'location' (i.e. the gibberish you just copied over from the previous Start in field earlier). See if they got the same location as the one written down at step 5.
7) If the answer is no, then that's the folder you should install to!

If the answer was yes, you can go about and repeat the trick till you find a 'free' copy of RTW 1.5. Otherwise you can just use your Explorer to find the location of your clean RTW 1.5; you can find the right 'path' (the proper name for any such thing as "C:\Users\...\RTW" or "C:\Program Files\...\Rome Total War") in the textfield on top. (Just below the menu.)

Ok heres a problem...

I installed RTW

Updated it to 1.5...

Then played it to see if it was working

BAM it works, so thats good...

I installed EB(Damn wtf 2h+ installation lol MD5 checking and configuring..)
Played it...

And when it gets to the main menu, its all freaky and seizure inducing.

And when I try to do campaign it CTD'S

Is this because I forgot to delete map.rwm? lol

(btw I'm installing again and going to delete the damn map.rwm, I released it could be that too late)

No, it's because you are the proud owner of a PC which doesn't digest the movies very well. You could try turning the movies back off, by adding "-nm" without the quotation marks to the target line of your shortcut.

EDIT: Do not continue this discussion here, Olaf, please make your own thread instead. That way it will help people keeping unrelated problems separated from each other, and more effectively offer help. It is also good manners towards the OP.
