Since Im not that great at relationship advice and I kinda got the hint from the Mods (thanks guys) that I should stop trying. So now I have moved on to better topcis and hopefully this thread wont get closed.
Speaking of sport and the wide variety of sporting leagues and such, in contrast with the Org.'s extensive community backgrounds. Here's the chance to show your support for your favourite sport or sporting team. Im sure there are many sports that are unheard of to some so please do explain.
I shall start by saying I think the best sport in the world is Football (playing with your feet, othersides stuoidly called 'soccer') And my favourite league would be the English Premier League, favourite team is Arsenal. But the Australian National team isnt bad either. GO AUSSIES!!!! :2thumbsup:

Hmm favourite team,
't Postje of course, the football team I'm playing in (pub football*).
* for people who aren't familiar with Belgian amateur football leagues:
Belgian amateur football teams are usualy sponsored by and based at a pub/café/bar. After the game we go to the pub/café/bar of the home team for the third half .

Ajax fans...poor guys!
Don't really care about local teams, national teams for the win. Our current team is a disgrace, but naturally I support it.

I thought you were one of those poor fops, must admit. Not even slight
sympathies, as it were? RKC fan in hiding? Anywhere?
Ajax is but a shadow of it's former self but their rhetoric has a hard time catching up, at a certain point you have to cash that arrogance.

Whenever they insist on tagging "Glasgow" before [or after] the names in such a
vulgar manner, I'm afraid I'm forced to picture Barry Ferguson wearing some kind
of bright blue, lycra Power Rangers style one-piece.

Out of curiosity: are you of Italian ancestry? Because I don't know why anyone would want to support the Italians if they weren't. Unless you were a big fan of diving and bribery.
Arsenal for me, and England, for my sins.

To answer the initial question in some way, would say firstly that there is only
one sport that truly matters, in my view. With that in mind, in terms of club
football, I watch top-flight leagues wherever possible and as a result am perhaps
overly sympathetic to a select number of teams across the continent. [Without
being too involved.] That said, I am obliged to care about the fortunes of my
local team; the only team whose supporters can travel to Celtic Park and sing
with real conviction, that old classic, "We Hate Rangers More Than You".
[As well as "Oh The Rangers Are *****".]
When looking to England, I am completely neutral. Honest.
Sympathetic feelings stretch outwards towards:
1. SNL [Slovenia]: Nafta Lendava
Ligue 1: Strasbourg
1. Bundesliga: Werder
Eredivisie and below: RKC, and perhaps Gronigen
Serie A [when forced]: Livorno, and any team that faces Lazio
And in terms of the national game, there can clearly only be one option. The
defenders of Europe and of footballing justice, and the team that shall crush
the corrupt come the 17th.
[I almost believe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH4jR-dtR6E).]

Well I don't support Berwick Rangers, QPR, or any other Rangers. It's an international community here just letting everyone know who I mean.
I do support my local team, Dumbarton, but thats not much fun at the moment. Just sat on a train for an hour to see them get picked to pieces by Albion Rovers. I can honestly say though that the referee really was a ******.
EDIT: YES!!! McCabe (DFC manager) just got sacked. :balloon:

I think he may mean Aberdeen, although I'm not sure the Dons really hate us more than the Tims.:juggle2:

You think I may? :grin2: Yes, I refer to Aberdeen. And well, that's open to
interpretation, I'd suppose. Sectarian hatred still lingers, clearly, and the Old
Firm derby is undoubtedly the biggest match in Scotland. But I feel the
non-sectarian hatred that developed between Aberdeen and the Huns in the
1980's is still very strong; if not down there, then up here certainly. It has
clearly been demonstrated in recent years.
Well I don't support Berwick Rangers, QPR, or any other Rangers. It's an international community here just letting everyone know who I mean.
That anyone would assume QPR is amusing, isn't it? But it's a valid point,
obviously. I was merely expressing my dislike of the usage.
I do support my local team, Dumbarton...
There's hope for you yet. ~;) I'm glad.

You might be shocked to learn that Aberdeen are actually my 2nd team in the SPL (3rd team overall, then 4th is Brechin City). I know it's ironic as an RFC fan, but my dad supported Aberdeen and I've got a few relatives up there and across the east coast area (hence the Brechin link), and we sometimes talk about how Aberdeen are getting on, especially with their recent European games coming up.

fold, but you know...

Well I grew up as a Hun, but I've always had a soft spot for the Dons. When you grow up and all your friends and neighbours are RFC fans then unless you've got a real good reason not too then you are going to support Rangers. I suppose recently I've drifted more towards Dumbarton, when I was younger I used to love all the glamour of the SPL and the Champions League (and I still do), but now I find myself at the SHS every week.
Also I was a bit harsh to Mr. McCabe above, he's done a lot for the club.:sorry:
Anyway, I'll stop hijacking this thread now...:hijacked:
