:idea2: HELLO...
I am a faitfull EB Player.:2thumbsup:

:help: This thread is an attempt to get more people involved in editing AI during campaign, and also to create a way for each player to be in greater control of what happenes on the map.

:balloon2: Please keep an open mind of what I am asking for from the EB Community, and if you find it offensive or if you disagree just stay away from the thread. Don't post messages of anger or irrelevance.
I do ask that each of you read and consider my request carefully. This is only an attempt to improve my gaming experience with EB 1.0!!!

:wall: I don't know about most of the other players, but regardless of which faction I play, there is always one faction that takes over in the other corner of the world. They simply crush everyone. Soon, I find my self in a mess against a superpower for the next 1000 turns. Quite frankly this makes the EB a little dull, and I beleive it drives players angry to the point of never finishing the campaign. I wanna an opportunity to play and beat every faction in the game. Not just local factions and than superpower for the reaminder of the time. It gets very boring.:smash:

:idea2: Therefore I am asking the community to help me by either giving instructions on how to limit AI expansion, or how to control it once in the game.

If this is not possible than I ask you players to share your cheat codes with me, for the purpose of controlling the opposing factions.
Cheat codes such as moving a character, killing a faction, taking over a city, etc.

Please only post if you have a correct and extremely descriptive point of view or offering of help. Keep in mind that it is very crucial to include detailed explanations. Please don't assume I know anything.

Thanks...

One more thing:
I already spent hours on the forum reading other posts.
They don't help. I need your help finding a resolution not smart ass comments.
Thank your for being polite...

That was the hardest post I've ever read in terms of format.

So I condensed it for everyone to only important issues:

"I find my self in a mess against a superpower. Quite frankly this makes the EB a little dull, and I beleive it drives players angry to the point of never finishing the campaign. I wanna an opportunity to play and beat every faction in the game. Not just local factions and than superpower for the remainder of the time.

Therefore I am asking the community to help me by either giving instructions on how to limit AI expansion, or how to control it once in the game."

I personally love to face a superpower. RTW in general is almost like a twenty faction tournament in end there is two for the championship. It is a lot fun. If you want to beat every faction, basically that means none of them can expand beyond the rebel provinces, so you could edit it so the factions never go to war with each other by changing stuff in the descr_strat text. Of course you might be mobbed by everyone once the rebel provinces are gone. Which would basically be the same as facing superpower...

You could create a script that whenever a faction takes another factions city, it is automatically given back...

Sometimes I just add 40,000 mnai to my treasury and add it to a struggling faction; otherwise, I just use my own money, which feels much more accurate, since often powers back then (and today) will undermine other large powers by funding their enemies and whatnot. Consider it a war by-proxy.

Deciphering that proved almost as difficult as my Advanced Encryption class.

Simply look up the internal name of the faction you want to hinder on the stratmap (in descr_strat in EB\Data\world\campaign\imperial_campaign) - and cheat them out of their money?

For example if you want to make the Arverni suddenly suffer from inexplicable perpetual debt:

add_money "scythia" -40000

should do the trick. Mind you I never really tried this out myself, so I could be wrong about the brackets. It is definitely possible to add or substract money to/from others' treasuries, though.

Hope this will make you enjoy EB more.

Force diplomacy mod.

One effective way to slow down, but not totally hamper AI expansion is one of the money mods that were available for 0.81. The mod would give a little extra cash to struggling factions and reduce income for big factions. Socialism, basically, but in this case it worked quite well.

Oh come on! That post wasn't half as difficult as some around here. Anyways what you're asking is what everyone else would like to see too, but whatever the solution may turn out to be, it won't be simple.

Btw, doesn't the money script atm. prevent factions from going broke, so that if you use add_money to get them into red, won't their finances bounce right back up in the next turn?
