Sorry, i know you are supposed to look in the Scriptorium first but, unfortunately, the guide for creating Loyalty in BI.exe did not help much at all, at least not for me. The main problem i'm having is how to add the little ring symbol(i think that's my main problem). Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated (help meaning a walkthrough  ) thanks.

The ring symbol bit should be dealt with by the last stage of the tutorial
11. \ui\roman\interface\stratpage_02.tga
Copy in the "ring" symbol from the BI file. Note I've only done this for romans thus far..
You need to have unpacked your RTW/data files to find the RTW version of the file, then copy and paste in the little icon from the BI version of the file. I think you either have to re-pack the files or use a mod-folder (recommended) to get a revised roman\interface file to be read by the game.
Have you tried any of that so far. If it still doesn't pick it up you might also need the BI version of the strat_..rsd files which are in the UI folder, as the tutorial didn't mention that though I assume you don't :inquisitive:
Don't worry about asking questions, asking after you've looked first is fine :)

ignore end of that discussion it evolved into talking about BI mod-folders that are quite different as more files are required.
for RTW; make folder in Rome -Total War folder called "my_mod" or anything you like
you don't need quite all this but easiest thing then is to create folder
my_mod/data and into data copy contents of Rome - Total War/data/text, (only ones you really need at this stage are the regions_and settlements_names ones) and Rome - Total War/data/world folders. Then if you launch game from shortcut with -mod:my_mod on shortcut you'll be using what is in the mod folder.
If you want to change anything copy it from Rome - Total War/data into
Rome - Total War/my_mod/data and change the version there. If you copy anything in that came from packs don't put it inside packs folder but use the path it should be on without the extra packs/data level, for your UI you would instead create path
RTW/my_mod/data/ui/roman/interface/
nearly everything works from that, certainly most things you'd frequently mod, a few bits that don't have defined paths won't - ones I've found are ui/cities cards, re-textured original buildings, and terrain files relating to sea - all those work if packed into mod_0.pak which should be 're-packed' on their default path like data/terrain/aerial_map/sea and the resultant pack be placed in
RTW/my_mod/data/packs/

Sorry for the late response...really i am...
See, i figured out how to run RTW with BI.exe kind of by myself :idea2:, i used the barbarian invasion shortcut and simply made it -mod:data so it runs my rtw data...i havent seen anything go wrong with it yet...
To the point, how would one use the mod folders if my data file is basically a mod in it's self? And if you do make a mod folder, as you were describing, i don't have to copy anything except for the /text files and such, and it will still run everything else?(all of the descr_ files and export_descr files, etc.)

IMO, just my taste, if you're running Rome via BI you might just be better of copying the game-folder and use that as "mod" ...
I'm not sure if you can still use a mod-folder in this setup (Rome via BI.exe), than again I never tried cause just copying the entire game is so much easier ... :D
(besides it right away gives you back-up :2thumbsup: )

you can run a RTW mod-folder in exactly the same way under the BI.exe as you do under the RTW.exe.
just put the
-mod:my_mod
on the BI exe shortcut instead of the RTW one. The only thing that doesn't work that way is custom battles, I think there is a work around for that somewhere but I've not done it myself.
The only things you need in a RTW mod-folder are the files needed for the map, eg the campaign and base folders, and the regions and settlements file in data/text. Then just add files you want to change, you don't have to copy whole data folder for a RTW mod-folder even if you are running it under BI.exe
The problem with BI mod-folders that means you have to copy more stuff, is that BI is already a mod of RTW and you can't make game look from mod-folder to mod-folder(BI) to RTW. So nearly all the BI stuff has to go in your new BI mod-folder.
