Has anyone here seen it? I saw it on YouTube, OMG! That was probably the only musical production that I have ever liked. Tu Vas Me Detruire SO emotional and intense (and kinda scary :P) and Dechire really elagant.

If you have seen it, have you seen it live? The only time I have ever seen one of these live was a Lion King production on BroadWay a long time ago and it stunk. :P

Umm, are you referring to a musical? 'Cuz, frankly, I've never heard of a musical titled that. Now, if you're referring to the actual cathedral, yes, I've been to it. It was very nice, though I imagine it would have been better if it hadn't been raining...

Oh, you mean the musical... :sweatdrop:

No haven't seen it live. I hear it is rather good though. Is there an English version then?

I've never heard of a musical titled that. It is a musical based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It may be more familiar to the English speaking world as the 'Hunchback of the Notre Dame', or 'Quasimodo'.

Yes, that would be much more familiar.

As far as I know it was done in French, English, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and Slovac. (I heard that it was also done in German, but can't verify it. :P)

From what I have seen, the English one is excellent, and the Russian is very good. The others are kind of poor though. :P (Except of the French of course, which is the best. :P)

Ah, ok. Yes, I'm quite familiar with Quasimodo. Never seen it performed, though.

If it's not against the forum rules to ask (not sure about legality and stuff), where I can see the Musical *without* having to resort to low-resolution youtube dot com?

I had a hunch it might be something like that. :embarassed:

Now the joke.

The phone rings deep in Notre Dame, a clerical figure bustles towards the sound of the ringing, he picks it up.

"Hullo, this is Mrs. Modo here, our Quasi wont be coming into work today, he's got a bad back!". :sweatdrop:

You haven't seen Le Miserable? Also Victor Hugo, and better than 'Hunchback' IMHO, assuming similar quality of actors.

If you like musicals dig into the real thing sometime and check out an opera. I always recommend Aida for a first timer, prototypical story and characters with some really wonderful arias. If you catch it on a big stage the triumphal march can be truly incredible as well. It's also one of the most performed operas in history, and very accessable.

Here's Pavarotti's version of the title work:

I just confirmed that there is a German version, but cannot find the recording anywhere. Could anyone here help me?

No he is quite correct - it is Notre Dame de Paris.

I went to see it in London about 5-6 years ago and at that stage it had Dannii Minogue (Kylies little sister) in the lead role - well it would have but the night I went she had off :laugh4:

It is a really really good show - the music is pretty good and all that but they have atroop of ex-olympic gymnasts who jump and tumble around the stage.

Mind you I have not been to that many shows but this one was more a gymnast fest that a musical.
