Hi everyone!

I've found that some ancillaries (actually, the most common is Tutor) can be swapped between characters but others can't. :juggle2:

Is there some limiting factor involved? Or do certain traits limit the swapping? Eg. Lack of piety would deny a Chivalric Knight (or somesuch)?

Appreciate if someone could help answer... Cheers!

It's dependant on the ancillary itself, and nothing else. Some can be traded, but most can't.

Other than a very few humans, like the tutor, most tradeable "ancillaries" are inanimate things like religious relics.

I wish more ancillary characters could be traded, but I suppose that would make them practically immortal, since you could trade them from one generation to the next, forever. That wouldn't be very realistic.

That was 1 exploiy in RTW that you could always take advantage of and as a result have very decent generals at a young age. Mind you, I don't mind the fact you can't trade them around in M2TW. Provides a bit more of challenge.

Dismal provided a list of the transferable ancillaries - you can find it in the M2TW FAQ stickied in this forum. It's a small list, so I think the main function of transferring now is to stop relics falling into the hands of grave-robbers.

Can easily be modified if you want ancillaries to be transferrable.
PM me if you want to know.
