From what I find in google Earth, there is no worcester in New York so either I'm missing something or you and that commenter have to check your definition of a lie.
Also notable is how this attitude towards work is just the first step towards the economic downfall of the United States.

I found that one, but like I said, it's not New York. He said he'd go to New York, yet went to Worcester. And he planned to go to Worcester when he wrote the mail, indicated by the beer, thus it qualifies as a lie.

Worcester is a factory city in central Massachusetts that's seen better days. He may have gone to New York the following day. Prole's right, nothing so far has proven that he lied. That being said, I think he's busted. And none too bright, neither.

Edit: Correction, Husar is getting to be more correct. I had mistakenly thought he sent the email in the following morning due to a hangover. It was actually dated the afternoon of the party. Now, technically, he still may have driven to New York the next day (about an hour down the Mass pike) but odds of that small miracle are slim indeed.
