widescreen resolutoin probs

ok this is odd but the widescreen resolution is off and everything looks stretched sideways @ 1680x1050 with widescreen option checked.
I've got a 22" brand new widescreen lcd and it's been runnin' native resolution:wall:
anybody experienced that before or has any idas on how to fix it?

Funny that, I got a new widescreen TV and had the same problems. I just buggered around with the TV and game res settings until I got something that looked about right. Can't get it right with the widescreen settings though.

I can understand this may happen to a TV but mine doesn't even have inputs for a cable tv.. it's pc lcd and should work just fine as it does in other games.

For what it's worth, I've found mine looks right only if the widescreen option is unchecked. Everything seems in proportion then. Weird.
