Kirtan's woundrous mountains

I just fought a battle with Carthage against the Numidian city of Kirta, the one right below Ippone. It is on top of a ridicoulosly high mountain and my and the enemy's units' pathfinding was horrible, troops walking all over the place instead of forming a line, etc.

so, are you complaining about the high mountain?
or are you complaining about the pathfinding?

if option a: maybe it is historic. ? i dont really know.
if option b: that's called the limits of the splendid pathfinding in rtw.
