Crusades/Jihads

Can these use ports that you don't control? Can I send a Crusade through somone elses territory and then use their port to land it somewhere else? Do I have to have a chain of ships connecting that port to the destination? Can I use another factions ships?

I kind of like Crusades, they're like a province seeking missile.

Yes, you can use your allies' fleets so long as:

1) your crusade is in a province that belongs to them
2) that province has a port
3) there is a chain of their ships from that province to another one that is closer to your crusade destination.

Needless to say, every time I have a crusade en route, my allies always manage to send their navy off to search for America or something and I have NEVER been able to use this facility... :no:

Adding to say that if you're using the Danes' port for example, you're only using thier shiplines and cannot use your own.
