Numidian cavalry

The unit description for Numidian cavalry describes the unit as probably the best light missile cavalry anywhere in the world. However, their stats don't seem particularly impressive. Is there something I am missing or do they have some hidden feature?

Historically, my friend, historically :) Ingame, it's really about how you use them. Hippakontistai could become the best missile cavalry in the world if you used them right.

they easily recruitable, they have high morale, more javelins and with a better range than most of skirmisher cavalry and a good cavalry spear (0.33 lethality), so they are indeed strong, even with the limited armor and the high cost.
