Hi, how can i recruit generals in EB 1.0?
You need a Lvl4-Government and then you have to build the highest level of native MIC's

You need:
- a gov4 (the gouvernment building that costs 100 mnai AFTER you've build a provisional gouvernment), then
- a regMIC5 (the highest MIC for regional troops, which costs 15,000 mnai).
The simplest way to learn how to do this:
- play a new game as Makedonia,
- go to Mytilene (province Lesbos) where you have a gov4,
- open the console by pressing the key LEFT to 1 on your keyboard,
- then use <add_money 40000> twice,
- then give the order to build the regMIC,
- use <process_cq Mytilene>
- and redo until you have no more MICs to build.
Et voilĂ : you can now recruit Generals in Mytilene.

I'll keep that in mind for the Adverni, as my family members can't seem to produce any kids.

You have to gain ome provinces before you start having children

I tried the Merc General as Bactria but I seem to get Dull/ Christmatic and Langorous general every single time with out command stars and any fighting experience..
Is there any way to get better generals? :sweatdrop:
Celtic lesser kings are quite superb infantry, excellent for factions without assault units. They sometimes get good traits, but it is not important if they are only fighters under the command of real royal family members.

BTW, will these recruitable generals "reproduce" and have kids in the provinces where they are posted (as family-member generals that act as governors do)?
Or they will simply never die like any other standard units? :idea2:
I asked this to ensure the stability of governor supplies for my provinces coz I'd like all of them have their own individual governors. It would be really helpful if one of the cases I mentioned above is featured in EB 1.0...
Could someone please verify this question? Thx a lot.

Neither is the case, afaik. They do not reproduce nor do they last forever. Having one governor for each province will quickly bankrupt you, as their upkeep is quite severe.

I see, thx for the explanation (and the warning) Foot. :2thumbsup:
Another question:

Et voilà: you can now recruit Generals in Mytilene.
I tried to do exactly that (having already activated the script, too, before doing the steps above): went to Mytilene, build MIC until the last one (the 15000 mnai one), but I did not got any option to recruit general in Mytilene recruitment window. What is apparantly wrong here, can anyone help me? Does the general represented by a "head" picture in the recruitment window or by picture of his bodyguard unit? :dizzy2: Where is exactly to recruit him after having a 4th type gov and highest MIC?
Also, in my palace there is a description that I can recruit Free Slaves. However, again this is not represented anywhere in the recuitment window. So where is the place to recuit them?
Thx a lot.
IIRC the general appears as the unit card of the unit but ti should work; try looking for the word mercenary in any of the unit names and then take a closer look. As Makedonia it should be a heavy cavalry unit (?).
Cheers
EDIT: It may be that as Makedonia you have to build the level 5 MIC so try that but apart from that it is just basically recruiting a normal unit. Ah, the 'Free Slaves'. AFAIK they are only placeholders to prevent a Rebellion CTD that occurs without that unit, but don't worry they're not meant to show up in the recruitement panel so there's nothing wrong there. ;)

Did you build the highest regional MIC or the highest factional? The regional is the one you need.
