Kudos to Creative Assembly for such an engrossing game; I make this post in complete sincerity & without sarcasm. It is easily twice the challenge of Shogun.

My big challenge now is that my king any all my heirs are mostly drunken cowards, with various vices to kill happiness, & all have the acumen of such a level that I believe they make decisions by flipping coins or rolling dice. If I can hang on until a king of some worth ascends to the throne, I will be very proud indeed.

Thank you, CA, for making even complete frustration an enjoyable experience.

spmetla is right just send the bad hires to war under the command of good general. Then used the hires units to attack stupidly. Therefore bad hires die while u win the war! What coulc be better?

Traitorous gaijin dogs...

It is obvious that such kuge have better things to do than to involve themselves in battle. Simply ensconce such individuals safely in your sacred capital, and let his appointed shogun and daimyo allies handle the mundane affairs of day-to-day rule. In this way the mandate of heaven is maintained, and the strife of civil war avoided.

Hmm as far as i know, if there is a heir or king in your army, they will ALWAYS be in command, thus your good general has no influence here...

No, that is only the king. Heirs can be put under others command.

I have used this tactic a lot of times to get rid of bad heirs.

My first heir (a certain Prince William) was actually top notch, but inexplicably disappeared one day when my King of Scotland died (at around 1108, so qiute early on).

His army remained, but he was gone, while my King was taken out of his army and placed on his own by the computer.

What the hell is all that about?!!?

And you had not fought any battles with both the king and heir at the same time?

The Prince could very well have been killed without any notification. You never know if he is dead if he died in battle under the command of another.

Deffo not killed in battle.

He was resting quietly at home in Mercia at the time and was his army's general!

btw, the title of King of Scotland also disappeared. I assumed it would become available again.
