Surprise, surprise. The most recent Iowa poll shows Mitt Romney still in first. His nearest competitor, however, turns out to not be Rudy or McCain or Paul, but in fact, Mike Huckabee.

I dunno about most people, but this I wasn't really expecting. I'd figured he'd go the way of Brownback, but he's proved me wrong, at least for a while. I don't think he's ultimately got staying power, but who knows?

How could this happen, one might ask? Two words: Chuck Norris.

IMO they are just fixing the polls. They did a national blind test and Ron Paul won. And yet you've got all sorts of "frontrunners" and "top-tier".

He's a beast on bass though: "Freebird" - Huckabee (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkeflmkFCj0)

Bah. Bass skills and Chuck Norris approval aside, he's a deluxe version of Dubya's compassionate (big government, social conservative) conservatism (which, as can be seen recently, is bad).

CRPretty much, yeah. He seems like a nice guy, but I don't want to see him as president.

He may make a good vice president. If Rudy took him as VP they would appeal to both big city US Americans and country types. Rudy would counter Hillary and Huckabee would shore up support in the south.

Really though, could you see a guy named Huckabee as president?

Lets see how he does in NH and down south, Im not sold yet.

However the polls are also putting Rudy in 1st place nation wide....

So a pro choice, gun control conservative leads national republican polls...

Anything is possible, huckabee it is !

Bear in mind that beating Hillary is a must because Hillary Clinton is the devil, right?

Bear in mind that beating Hillary is a must because Hillary Clinton is the devil, right?

Is she? I am a confirmed independent at this point. I havent declared which party primary I will vote in. Hillary should be simple enough to beat, she perpetuates the division that MR Bush started.

Of all the candidates she is the most devisive and republicans will unite to beat her, but will they unite behind a pro abortion, gun control, former mayor of NY?

This election is going to be full of firsts...
