Hi all,

i'm using LTC 3.1 (don't have kingdoms) and have just started out as the Turks. I'm about 20 turns in and going really well. (Awesome mod by the way - highly recommended!)

However every time I try to recruit an Imam (islamic preist), he automatically turns into a heretic at the start of the turn. So I dont even get to use him! Now I have about 20 heretics running about - which makes good training for assassins by the way.

Also the other weird thing was that the original Imam that you get when the campaign starts disappeared off the map after turn 2. (most likely became heretic too)

Has anybody else encountered this on LTC? is it a bug? or will the heretic quota be eventually filled and I'll be able to have Imams one day?

:help:

Youre likely recruiting in a high heresy region, which means the imam will spawn already susceptible to heresy with things like unorthodox and so forth. Then, you have other heretics and heresy in the region which converts your imam, and he joins the heresy side. This multiplies and becomes more and more powerful an effect the more heresy there is in a region and the more heretics you have about.

You likely encouraged the heresy and now it has snowballed into a real problem.

Its not the modded game, it's simply your misfortune on this particular campaign.

In other words, recruit 6-8 imams in other provinces and march them into the heresy region en masse. Don't send them in piecemeal or they'll go heretic.

Agreed. Best bet.

Or send in an Imam with 6 piety or better and crush them all with that one Imam.

I believe an Imam or priest above 5 piety cannot be turned to the dark side. They have "cardinal"-level immunity.

its defintely not a problem with the modi'm currently playing a turk campaign on LTC3.1 and have minimal heresy problems.

in fact i have provinces with no imama nor any mosques which dont seem get any heresy at all. this is strange compared to previous experience

Just finished playing for the night, up to turn 30 and you know what?....

I managed to train Imam's in other provinces as you guys mentioned and now I'm finally making headway.

It was a rather bizarre start to the Grand Campaign though, I must admit I have never had herecy so high at the start of the game like that! Iconium, the Turk capital had 60% herecy (and Caesaria 40%) thanks to me training endless Imams that immediately converted to herecy.

This is why I love this game so much. Every now and then it does something to surprise you when you thought you have seen it all.

Thanks guys for your wise counsel.:2thumbsup:

P.S. Thanks Lusted for a great mod. :2thumbsup:

One Imam to rule them all,
one Imam to find them.
One Imam to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them

Let the enlightened heretics do their work. For the better of mankind. :gathering:
