So after a lot of sitting and the a lot of massed battles and then... more waiting and then more fighting. I've taken over England, which sadly was a rather rough struggle. Unfortunately, however, my next choice on where to go... Scandanavia, Denmark and the swezboz lands don't seem to be willing to let me recruit even a militia unit foreign or my own. Is this right? It seems like i should be able to atleast recruit german units or my own even if just the basic ones to hold cities.

According to the Recruitment Viewer, you should be able to recruit Germanic Spearmen with lvl 2 foreign MIC in Germany. In Scandinavia you have to build foreign MIC to lvl 5 to recruit anything (mercenary general here).

EB's Germania isn't a good place to recruite locals for any faction, save the Sweboz. If you don't want to hire mercenaries for simple garrison duties or spend your time in shipping hughe numbers of Britons around to defend those villages from greedy neighbours, you better step in for a brief visit at your Celtic cousins on the continent before, because their lands (the two Belgican provinces in particular) offer you a good selection of your factional units, and some decent locals too.

Yes, conquer your fellow Celts first. Germania is pretty much worthless anyways.

I've noticed, though, that Celts will fight for anyone. Celtic provinces are the only ones where every faction is guaranteed a good selection of regionals, IIRC.

Yes, they and the Greek Poleis. Most of the factions are able to raise skirmishers, missle, Hoplites and one or the other unit of cavalry from the Greeks. Even those are not to be considered "Hellenic" in any way, like the Romans or Sweboz.

I suggest you take the rest of the British Isles first, the money will come in handy, and maybe Ireland while your at it, the Goidol units are pretty interesting.
Next I suggest you attack the Belgae over the channel, mainly for the improved cavalry (Even heavy cav is available after the reforms in the form of the Remi Marpos (sp?)) but you'll get access to some decent celtic infantry too.

I took England and Ireland and I have almost all of Germany just they have enough left that its quite a fight with reinforcements only being sparing. i just figured the Chatti and Cheruschi would be available. Guess I'll have to figure out whether to destroy all the building and donate everything to carthage or someplace random

or you could do a bi of modding. I've modded plenty of unis for the sake of historical accuracy. Easy to grant units to factions and make them recruitable.
