I think I remember seeing a similar topic but I cant seem to find it. I ussually turn up some old school hip hop and rnb.

I did however end up making an instrumental for hip hop, but I found to be very entertaining to listen to while in the middle of a fight. Makes it feel all epic and dramatic and stuff :2thumbsup:

I read that first part then was distracted by someone before reading the second half of it. Gave me quite the chuckle haha

As far as the opposite sex knows, I don't know anything about computers but how to check email/myspace =p

I listen the dishwasher, because I am banned to the kitchen when playing a game with a lot of killing sounds and shouting in strange languages. Nothing for a relaxing evening in the living room....

I listen to Death-, Trash- and Heavy Metal. This kind of music combined with the mass slaughtering of pixelsoldiers, creates a potential for running amok far superior to what a ordinary FPS-player is able to achieve.

In the strategic map, it's always the vanilla EB music. The same usually goes for the tactical map, but there I sometimes throw in "Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater or "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. That's, uh... EB-music, rock and psychedelic rock, respectively.

Even if I wanted to listen to anything else my computer is too much of a trash to run both EB and a media player at once.

I'm mostly obliged to hear whatever football κрαп bro turns on the TV though. :wall:

I must say, a bit of CCR is a f**king brilliant choice!!! One of the most under-rated bands ever in my opinion.

I listen to metal mostly. Heavy, speed, thrash, power, progressive, even a little black/death. A lot of it even fits in themetically with EB.

Some of my favorites:

Blind Guardian - Battlefield, Mirror Mirror, Blood On My Hands
Hammerfall - Ravenlord, Let the Hammer Fall, Hero's Return, Blood Bound
Falconer - Enter the Glade, The Clarion Call, Lord of the Blacksmiths
Dream Theater - Pull Me Under, The Glass Prison, Misunderstood
Iced Earth - 1776, I Died For You
Stratovarius - Anthem of the World, A Million Light Years Away, Bloodstone, Dreamweaver, SOS, Kill the King, Awaken the Giant, Millennium
Nightwish - The Kinslayer, End of All Hope, Moondance, Wishmaster
Slipknot - Before I Forget, Wait and Bleed
Dio - Losing My Insanity, Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Gets Me Through, Crazy Train
Sonata Arctica - I Want Out, Full Moon, 8th Commandment, San Sebastian
Symphony X - In the Dragon's Den, The Eyes of Medusa, The Witching Hour, King of Terrors, Masquerade '98

And anything by the following bands:
Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Rammstein, AC/DC, Disturbed, Rob Zombie

Quite possibly.

"Hip hop" means nothing to me. I can't relate to anything they sing about. I don't have millions of dollars. I don't drive a Bentley. I don't beat my hoes. I have respect for the rule of law and don't want to "f**k tha police". I don't like big buts. I can in fact, touch this.

I prefer to listen to metal, but I also like to listen to blues or folk music if fancy takes me. I really like Johnny Cash or Nick Drake. Francis Dunnery is also brilliant.

Then I'll tear this sh!t up with some Megadeth or Funeral for a Friend (before they turned gay).

I listen to Chinese rock music... I won't bother to list them since most people in China, let alone other countries, have never heard of them.

Western music I like Dropkick Murphy and Flogging Molly... kind of strange listening to Irish punk rock while playing as Saba though...

I don't consider that real rap at all. The hip hop that I listen to never talks about money, cars, or hoes. They rap about everyday life things, each persons life story. Some of it is nice and soulful like "Common Sense" rapping about his sweetheart. One of my favorite songs is by Talib Kweli who raps about his children being superstars in his eyes.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=Y12YgEIFcAY

This is real old school classic. Common rapping about how he misses real hip hop, how now its all about gangs and shit. Listen to the whole song, you'd think he is talking about some girl but at the end is the twist.

Seriously I get embarrassed saying I like Hip Hop because people right away think of that stuff on the radio that is horrible and unoriginal. It's crazy how pop and rock and even rnb now have better and more clever lyrics and word play that rap.

Although it is fun listening to "MOVE B!TCH GET OUT THE WAY" while charging cavalry into a flank :smash:

I prefered that to all the other hip hop I hear nowadays (although I do go out of my way to ensure I don't hear any). He did sound like he was rapping with a blocked nose.

I don't understand why R'n'B has started to be synonomous with Hip Hop now! When people say R'n'B to me, I think of the Small Faces, The Animals, The Who, The Rolling Stones or The Yardbirds! (Come on, I'm sure I can think of one American band that is R'n'B!?) That's what Rhythm and Blues is!

I just listen to the EB music which i really like but as was mentioned by a few here, the SPQR battle music is pretty damn good too. It's never occured to me to try it with EB.....I just might have to give that a try.....:idea2:

I'm quite content with just EB, I'm concentrating enough so that I don't really have the spare brain cells for much else. I prefer to listen to music completely on it's own, which in some ways is a waste, because I have my own detached study, and a 7.1 setup(Coast to Coast by the Scorpians sounds just dandy through it).

Yes the SPQR mods music was good, been awhile though, what is it now, still part of the score from Ben Hur and Conan the Barbarian?

I agree. That is on the part about my choice being good. I'm not of "their generation", so to say - so I can't really say much about whether they're underrated or not. But in any case, they're good, and that's good enough for me. ;) (And a positive thing with this is that my dad's a fan of them, and he had a "Best of CCR-CD", so I didn't have to go through the pain of aquiring it myself.)

I'm not of "their generation" either, believe it or not I'm only 24. I can believe that some people like CCR and rap, just as I can believe that some people like cabbage and marmalade sandwiches.

To be honest though, one of the best gigs I ever went to was Ice T when he was touring with Body Count! I really got caught up with the atmosphere.

Then I take the cake from the caketable of age. Only 19 and still able to sing "Fortunate Son" in my sleep. ~D Or, at least I would, if the bloody song was in Swedish. And I could sleepsing - or sing at all, for that matter. Meh. At least I've got the lyrics memorized.

I think I will experiment a little more with music-unthought-of next time I get around to play. Which should be tomorrow. Ain't no way to win the jackpot without placing a wager, you know.

I listen to folk music gathered from the appropriate regions whenever I can find them.(And afford them) I highly recommend Yair Dalal's "One" album for Qarthadast and Saba, lots of atmospheric Semitic campaign tunes and plenty of tension and mobilization pieces for the battle map.
For the "Eastern" factions like Pahlavi and Pontos The Kamkars work pretty well. Those Persian drums are stellar in the battle map.:book:
