You can only build ships in provinces that are able to build a naval port. I don't remember exactly what provinces are able to have a naval port though.

Can you build any boats at all? In EB, recruitment of naval units is restricted to towns which historically had harbours from where ships were built, which is why you can't just create ships from any old province.

Ah, thanks! Now I remember that. I think the only one of those provinces in Britain is the southern Irish city. Good thing I have an army headed that way.

Thanks for the help again

The city to the left of the Casse starting city could build ships in 0.81v2:dizzy2:

Ictis can still build ships in 1.0 (if there weren't any naval ports on Britain itself, how would you get across to Ireland unless you disbanded your starting fleet, which is essential to get the financial problems stabilized)

Yeah, there's been a land bridge since 0.81

What!!! You mean I don't have to have an Irish-Welsh navy transporting Goidillic troops? :wall:. I didn't have to march Barae all the way down from Scotland to Cornwall to conquer Ireland? (I was building port and fleet as he marched down) :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

Though it would explain why the AI Casse conquers Ireland sometimes.
