Hello,
my friend Marcus Furius Camillus, asked me to add Flaming Javelins to his RTW, so I did this like told in the tut... Afterwards I tried to start RTW and 2-3 sec later the game crashes to desktop... Does anyone know a solution? It is my fault he can't play RTW anymore, so I feel guilty... :embarassed:
Tnx in advance... :help:

try with the show_err command on your desktop-shortcut ..

I tried this with my MTW:
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Medieval - Total War - Gold Edition\Medieval_TW.exe -show err"
But then I get a screen wich asks with wich program the file should be opened. With Notepad I get a lot of strange signs...

sorry but when you're modding Rome ... than mod Rome ...
Medieval isnt the same as Rome, wich may already start to explain what may be causing your problems if you do think that you can just swap files and such between games, they are not the same ..

Lol, Red Spot is right :laugh4:
Also, the commands should go after the quote, like this:
"C:\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -show_err -enable_editor -nm

 Yes off course I know MTW isn't the same as RTW, but I don't have RTW on this Pc right now. So I tried it with MTW...

you really should try with Rome, as you experianced already ..;)
anyway, I guess you've seen this already
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=92861
possibly just copy that entry and see if it works for you .... in Rome ;)
another good thing would be to tell us what you modded and post the code here so when can look at it for ourselves ... after you've tried a session with the show_err command

I don't have the code anymore... The first thing I did after the crash is deleted the entries I changed (Javelin2 and flaming_javelin2)

Thanks for the 'lol' part lad's,
But, I'll just reinstall my RTW version ( my game was already freaking, so ... )
this would solve my problems. Or not ?

If you really want to do things properly and be done with it ...
-de-install (dont use the "uninstall icon" but go to your settings and remove it by selecting it from the list of installed programmes than click the remove button)
-de-frag your system
-run a decent registry tool (also defrag the registry if you've never done so before)
-install Rome (DO NOT RUN THE GAME YET!!**)
-patch it to v1.5 (or BI 1.6)
-copy the entire game-folder to somewere else
-put the entire copied folder on some spare disk
**the game creates some folders and stuff if you run a pre-patched game, dont know if the stuff can do any harm or whatever, can hardly even remember that it actually does, but I've made it sort of a must to install to the latest patch before running a game and never patch games that have been run
