Dark Crusade Mods? [Archive]

I bought DoW: Anthology (9.90 euros!) two days ago and after sorting out some CTD issues, i´m having loads of fun with the expansions - esp. DC but the meta-campaign seems to be rather ...err, uninspired ;)

So, my fellow orgahs, are there any mods you´d recommend for a chaos player?

DCPRO, if you are interested in just playing skirmishes. It doesn't have any support for the main campaign, though.

I don't think there are any DC campaign style mods out there yet. There are a slew of mods of various quality for skirmishes/multiplayer and a few campaigns in the works. I'm waiting for the Visions of Treachery:Horus Heresy campaign, but it's going to be a while.

If you don't like dealing with the inevitable rudeness involved with multiplayer, but don't feel the AI gives you any challenge in skirmish, you should definitely get the Dawn of Skirmish AI mod. It's great for practice.

Thanks for the information, Lehesu and Drone. I´m currently playingTableTop and DCpro - both seem to be very good mods so far (both have DoS AI, btw).

Edit: Yikes. Played some skirmishes on medium and got my butt handed to me by
the AI. Damn those Necrons!!! :stunned:

Necrons are very hard to handle until you tech up. There strength is also their weakness. Once you have the necron lord dead you just surround him with turrets or for Tau you use broadsides for a fairly efficient way of knocking him down when he stands up.

If you're only looking for gameplay and AI improvement mods, get Down of Skirmish or DoWXPpro.

If you're looking for new races mods, I can only advise you to try out the Inquisition DeamonHunters (adds the Ordo Xenos) and the Adeptas Sororitas (adds the sisters of battle) mods (AS got released today btw :D ).

Both are great gameplay and graphic wise (and IIRC, are compatible, meaning you can play with both the new races on a single game). Haven't had the time to play the sisters of battle that long, but AFAIK, there's no huge imbalance atm.

True. Best moment for a Chaos attack seems to be midgame. Their endgame units are pretty tough, too ^^

Mods i´ve tried so far:

-Table Top (scaled down inf models, closer to codex models, campaign
compatible, DoS AI and shooting actually kills stuff ~D)
-Inquisition: Demon Hunt (beautiful models, good AI, combat similar to original
DC)
-DCpro (as you said: definitly the mod to play skimishes/online)

EDIT: Holy crap. AS looks......fantastic! I want my Chaos Space Marines with that amount of model details. The celestians, the crusaders, the SoBs, ... just wow...
