When EB 1.1 comes out, will I have to delete my 1.0 game and start fresh like I did after .81 was surpassed, or would I just download it on top of my current game?

IIRC, there was a patch and full install planned.
And before someone asks, no, it will not be save game compatible.

You didn't know?

EB team is one 'secret order' of modders that is capable of not saying a thing and ignoring all posts that are connected to EB 1.1 XD

As far as the inteligence of fan community is up to date, EB 1.1 should include: New Buildings (more of them), Units (like first cohorts), Unit Balance and textures... that is as far as we can go :candle:
but dont tell anyone because they will hunt me down:damnmate: and I may finish like...:titanic:

No hard feeling - I love EB guys realy... It's just that I smell 1.1 is so close and We can't even get a picture of ...something new:yes:

Overhyping is the worst thing a mod team can do. The best way to release a mod is by developing it behind closed doors without any hype, then suddenly release it to the public. The best example about this that I can think of is the release of Finnish Defence Forces mod (cheap plug) for Operation Flashpoint (cheap plug). Practically no-one knew about it before the first release and it was the first full conversion mod for OFP. It was amazing, with all the hyped up "coming soon" mods suddenly pissing their pants. In my mind the EB team made a few too many teasers for 1.0, but that was a little different situation.

Cheap plug?

Though I agree it's much the best way to do things, if only commercial computer games would do this...:sweatdrop:

I've found that the bigger the hype, the worse the game ends up being. They make you prepared for the best game ever, then you get it and it is just above average which is worse than a game with no hype that is below average. A couple examples of games that sucked only due to a failure to live up to the hype are: "Fable" and "Oblivion".

OOO as in Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul? I downloaded it but haven't installed it yet. Is it good?

It's good. Instant challenge. You'll meet all kinds of enemies regardless of your own level, instead the location determines the enemies, so you have an incentive for leveling.

Should I finish the mainquest w/o OOO or should I install OOO immediately? - as in do I lose some fun elements in the unmodded version?

It will take you a long, long time to get ready to do the main quest in OOO. The main quest is really quite cool, and I suggest you complete it in vanilla before starting over.

In my own time I was very active on his officiall thread that is here

http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showforum=25

Soto is very nice guy.. (he uses that name for forums, his real name is Jorge Oscuro he lives in Spain near Valencia).. And is very opened to suggesstions
I remmeber I even managed to preside him to make some nice changes for OOO RC3 version..

One main think is that I have managed to argue with all of them there untill Soto said yes and implemented one idea of mine - That is to make people in OOO world threat you in context of who you are (if you are a bad character you will have less help in your quests from the god characterse and the same goes opposite) also that goes for the effect your armor carries.. If you have deadric - most people would flee when they see you and if you have Imperial they will like you more...

That change made you think what you wear before you enter a town.. that is more realism:yes:

Anyways... Soto is not working acitve on OOO for months - he got a permanent job.. and all that.. But let me tell you... Some creators of Oblivion play OOO:yes:

I had heard enough that I wasn't expecting much. I also waited for the price to drop before buying it. So, personally, I didn't get ripped off...

Compared to Morrowind, Oblivion is nothing, but the hype wasn't its only failure. The thing that sucked the most is the fact that Bethesda didn't follow their own lore:thumbsdown: . Cyrodiil is sooooooooooo much more interesting in lore than in TESIV. They even changed its climate from tropical rainforests and jungles to temperate forests for this game purpose only (stupid "classic fantasy" policy). I hope the next game from the series will be better...

This guy, wow, he's optimistic. He actually SEES a timeline on which, somewhere at the end, is written 'EB 1.1'.

That's more than can be said of most of us. XP *admires*
