Well, only about a month after receiving my new laptop, I can't seem to start it up. Oh yes, it gives me a fine selection to choose from when it comes to diagnostics and a nice system restore option that will probably take me back a few weeks.
Here is my question: What should I do?
Wave it in Geek Squad's face to make them mad and enter another five month journey without a personal laptop?
System Restore?
Full restore?
CD restore?
Throw laptop out window?
What would any of you do?

Do any of the diagnostics report a specific problem? Any idea what's wrong? Error messages, etc?

I get a choice between entering a repair module, or starting the computer normally. The RM does not find anything, or fix anything. Starting the computer normally results in an endless loop of the computer running through the initial stages of start up before showing me a blue screen with a paragraph of stuff on it that disappears after two seconds.

Well, the blue screen is somewhat indicative. I'd do a system restore as a first line and see what result you get.

Format disk, freshly reinstall, use apparatus, rejoice. That should do the trick, I bet.
They may have given you a lemon as an exhange. Did you actually take it out of the box and plastic when they gave it to you, or did they just hand it to you? My guess is the latter, right? Take it back and have em fix it. I'm really surprised that you've tolerated this much, I'd have escalated this way, way up the chain long by now and would probably be taking them to small claims court now.

Actually, I got a shiny new one in a taped box and about three layers of plastic, so I'm assuming that it is actually new and did not once belong to some Asian businessman who met an unfortunate end not too long ago.
As for an update, I'm happy to say that the System Restore option has been keeping tabs on me and it appears that this thing is going to work for at least until the end of my finals. Right before I actually got around to restoring it, turning it on resulted in the lap to displaying a blue screen with the following in white lettering:
STOP! (0000000Xb, 00000000A3, 000000000.......im pulling these out of my)
