Since its happened most of my campaigns after 150+ turns but I like to see how my royal family turns out since its one of my key point of gameplay - royal family management.
I take a Spartan apporach when family members come of age - if you are born with inbred, deranged, insane, and so on that kid is going to charge some rebel pikes and spears pretty soon.
But all this goes to naught when this happens:

Usually it comes back after a few dozen turns but this time its not. Is there a manual workaround for this to display the correct family tree?:help:
Thanks guys.

Hmm, when my current King died, it displayed like it should...anyone know if there is a cause for this?
Edit: Mess up again. Has to do with princesses joining family or something.

What version of the game are you playing ?
I remember that something funny happened to my family tree before patch 1.2 (can't remember what exactly) ...
Sorry I have no solution to your problem (except patching up if not done already)...

I had this problem once as well while i beleive playing as the Sicilians. I think it was something to do with the ammount of marraige alliances i had. Well at one point i just lost my whole family tree and was left with the Milanese original King and Queen who were dead in the tree, that was all. Rather annoying as i like to have a good pure family tree.:dizzy2:

Yah, it comes back at times though...I wonder what triggers this. This has happened in Kingdoms as well, after 150+ turns or so in both Kingdoms and Vanilla, AND other mods as well.

I share your pain, apart from the fact all my Family members died with in 7 turns for no reason, I nearly controled the whole map (All of russia after defeating mongols, I controlled jeruselum and my campain ended a few turns after Burgundies)
Any solution for this problem? I have the same "missing family tree" problem too currently with Sicily, and it has been like that for many, many turns.
I use the latest version (1.2)

Currently only thing you can do is wait for the family member who is causing the bug to die off (not sure if its always faction leader or any family member)... but it seems to be lifted whenever someone dies so Im assuming that the individual caused the bug and took it away as he died.

If I remember right from when this has happened to me, its caused when you use your Princess to seduce another empires family member. When they become faction leader it bugs on who to show for some reason and will only display him. The same will happen if one of the seduced family members sons become faction leader later too I think.
Hmm, I havn't noticed this problem before but just today when I started another Scotish campaign in Kingdoms, and right in the begining, my faction heir is not in the family tree, even it says Prince blah blah..also when William Wallace spawned and got the Man of the Hour and adapted become a family member, it didn't show on the family tree as well, the next turn he got married and still nada...I have about 15 family members but only 7 of them showed on the family tree... so I am wondering, what does this bug effect? I mean since they are not shown on the family tree, when they have sons, do they even spawn?
I am running the up to date Kingdom with no mods, and I am currently about 30-40ish turn in my Scots campaign I think.
