I'm playing as English, and just captured a Moslem province... however... a Crusade from another Catholic faction seems to still be marching towards what is now **my** province. What's gonna happen when they get there????

I've never experienced your predicament before, but I've had a similar experience with one of my crusading armies. Basically what happened was because the province was back in the hands of 'true catholics' again, there was no need to continue the crusade... which is kind of cool 'cos you still get to keep the troops from the crusade.

So I'm assuming that the above is what's gonna happen to the AI army.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers, for he today that sheds his blood with me, shall be my brother be he ne're so vile, this day shall gentle his condition. And Gentlemen in England, now a bed,
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here and hold their Manhoods cheap, whilst any speaks that fought with us upon Saint Crispines day.

Nope, they are going to show up and ask you to leave - your choice of that or war with them.

Personally, excommunication or not, I NEVER let a crusade into my territory. They can rot for all I care and so can the Pope. I never let a crusade strip my armies of troops - never.

if you lose to another crusading army, do you get your crusade counter back in the province like you do if an Islamic faction takes it back?

Do failed crusades pull down loyalty? I am playing the English on expert and had three crusades to Antioch fail. My loyalty ratings fell apart and it eventually went to a civil war.

I think crusades are a great way to clean up obsolete units and disloyal generals. Who wouldn't want to go on a one way trip to the holy land.
