"Stinkin rich campaign" 235 BC:
Not knowing what else to do, I've just unleashed hell. From now on yellow scum is the undisputed ruler of the seas. It will cost me 18.000 per turn and I can afford it. My coffers are full due to my cruel highest tax rate policy and merciless exploitation of subdued natives.
The only possible threat to my supremacy would be Ze First Bartixian Octosquid Submarine Fleet, but as far as I know, they are based somewhere aroung archipelago of Galapagos and are deeply involved in Inca-Mayan MegaCanoeConflict.

If anyone else would like to boast, please share.
Best regards
MiniMe Ze Yellow Talassokrat

Hmm, I can't boast yet, but yikes, them ships are nasty. Whose navy is like unto the Nees Megistai of MiniMe?

They are absolutely useless but have shiny purple sails and green hulk:laugh4:

I recruited them once, too but only to let them stay in the harbor of the capital as a blatancy against other factions.

That's pretty much what the Ptolemies did do with their Poliremes.

I wouldn't quite say that they are useless....

Non cost efficent, maybe, but not useless.

I remember being Macedon, bored and wondering what a naval superpower would be like, so I built a fleet of about 8 of these buggers just to show off

Took me a while to realise the cost of their upkeep and that instead of disbanding half my army in italy i should have ditched the boats

Not enough troops, Romans take Italy, not enough money, cant train troops,
got raped by the Getai in the end :shame:

Would be a good "house rule" for those who say 'Pontos is much too easy on VH/VH": Every family member needs a personal Nees Magistai-Fleet for parties.

A yes... Ze First Bartixian Octosquid Submarine Fleet :inquisitive: ... I believe traces of Charmin found in Inca-Mayan excavation sites can be traced to the octo-peds.:beam:

I think it might be a good idea to give the AI scripted fleets free of cost every once in a while... They never seem to build fleets. Perhaps if they had more laying about the place they might blockade your ports or something. I know the navy AI is absolutely incompetent in every way, shape and form and nothing will ever fix that but it may add something new to the game.

after great difficulties with Ptolemaioi and AS dreadnaughts in my previous campaigns I tend to desagree with you

Nice you like THE SHIPS guys.

I once created UI for ship that will steamroll over them... But rest of the team was not sure about some construction details... They said sth about low probability, lack of accuracy and this kind of stuf. If I'll find it, maybe I'll post it here

In my Getai campaign, shortly after taking Crete I discovered the hard way that AS is rich enough to have a unit of Nees Megistai hanging out near Rhodes.

Getai only get penteconters so my half stack navy got all but obliterated with I think one loss to the Nees Megistai :sweatdrop:
