What are you guys getting for your loved ones for this wonderful Christmas? (parents, grandparents, girlfriends, boyfriends, best friends, friends...Orgahs...the lot)

Share ideas. At the moment, I am totally out of ideas and by the end of next week, I have to get some presents for my family as I am going back for the Christmas holiday.

Orgahs...
If I were to get something for an orgah I'd certainly not write it on the org. :laugh4:
My parents may get something small, I tend to make bigger presents at the individual birthdays, that way I don't have to spend a whole lot on one day and my parents know my financial situation and what to expect.
My dad would probably make a joke that he paid for it himself anyway as he supports me currently. :laugh4:
I try to give my parents lots of love over the whole year and vice versa, that's worth a lot already. :2thumbsup:

I'm getting my mom a book filled with pictures of roses and rose bushes.
That will drive her nuts and will make her go out and plant more flowers in the garden. And that will inevitably lead to me and my dad digging holes and mixing top soil and garden soil next spring. And I will just get my dad a gift card/christmas card since he will probably give it to my mom anyway.

For my mother - The Beatles Collection
For my father - A model Volkswagen Rabbit (teach him to be sarcastic with me :laugh4:)
For my girlfriend - A couple of video games and jewellery. I love her, so easy to buy for. ~:)

For myself - My mother is getting me WiC Collector's, Logitech speaker system, and some books. My father is getting me a bow. No idea what I'm getting from the woman in my life, and I haven't decided what to ask for from the rest of the family.

Wha? Oh yes, I must start shopping. Still, I've something like 45 days left.

That has to be a subtle hint at something like Christmas not being on December 24th for you. :inquisitive:

It was meant in humor (I forgot a smiely and cant edit posts).

I mean they already get to spend time with me, what the hell else could they want?

Besides we have the Yule log already to go, and a ham picked out.

An external HardDrive for the missus (so she can backup her pix and stuff, in case we ever have to evacuate again from wildfires, earthquakes, etc; we won't hafta lug around an entire PC). Plus new seat-covers for her little puddle-jumper car (still looking for those).

I thought about coal, but couldn't handle The Price (http://www.em.gov.bc.ca/Mining/MiningStats/07weekly.htm) (near the page bottom).

I r poorz too. But I'm managing. Entire X-mas budget=~$140. And my sister is getting the most of it. $45-$50 for Mariokart DS. :dizzy2: Another trick is to get people to go halfses with you. My brother and I are both giving a gift to my sister's fiance. A Star Wars action figure gift set. He and I are both kind of man-boys in that respect. :laugh4: My dad is getting a CD wallet (he's impossible to buy for). Mom is getting the new Eagles CD. I might end up getting something for the two still living grand parents. Or I'll just sign my name to either mom or sisters over buys (which they always do).

Too expensive, so the new present for people who have been naughty is now Enriched Uranium...which I'll be happy to receive as it'd make a change from various other things.

Now now, such provocative inclinations like this are so unfrontroomish. :wiseguy:

I figured as such and "mine" had a "deeper" meaning. Coal is a "no pressure" gift because if there was a lot of pressure to get the ultimate present, the coal would become a diamond. I know that was a bit obtuse, but that is my usual angle.

Well Gregoshi you got me because I missed it. Yes I know, a revelation by an orgah/backroom poster admitting that the obvious went over there head is rare, but your worth the admission.

The puns, do they ever end Gregoshi? :surrender2:

The Christmas in Russia, Armenia, Georgia, and so on is on January 7th.

Good wine, good chocolate. Across the board. Wine for the males, chocolate for the females. Keeps everyone happy, and reminds them to feed me dinner! :laugh4:

The sixth, actually, but apart from that, you're right on. I can't speak for Russians nor Georgians. (Sourp Tznount)

Our families have declared an adult moratorium on Christmas gifts. We're all just focusing on the young 'uns. I'm kinda relieved, actually. A kid is easy, you know? Just give him a Ben 10 action figure and he's in ecstasy. But what do you get your 42-year-old brother who already has all the junk he'll ever need?

The two fundamentalists in our family aren't complaining either, since they consider all of the ceremony around Christmas to be pagan perversion. I, for one, would like to know what's wrong with a little pagan perversion now and then.

I got into trouble last year, when we agreed to do the same: gifts for kids, not adults.

Christmas Day arrived, and there were 2 packages under the tree with my name on them, and NONE for Mrs. K.

"But I thought we agreed..." held no water. T'was a tough morning, I'll tell ya.

Solution: always have a "backup" token present tucked away somewhere for emergencies such as misunderstood intentions, or surprise visitors.

absolutely nothing....

personally I have always found it to be my favorite form of perversion!

My mother's family celebrated on the 6th and 7th when they lived in the Soviet Union, I just presumed it was similar in Armenia. ~:)

I normally give either alcohol or books, as they both normally actually get drunk/read. More exotic stuff will probably just get chucked in a cupboard.

Indeed, BKS. Although I add intstrument-related items (sticks, strings, capos, bridges, pickups, etc) to that list

Excellent advice that I follow yearly, now. Scotch, good wine, an NYT bestseller, and a copy of the last good book I've read now populate my emergency stock.

If they don't like those, and have the wherewithall to say so, "Happy Saturnalia" is my wish; may your goats be introduced to your cattle. And each enjoy the company.

That is definitley one of my favorite (actual) curses!
