The processor is good, but it has probs with the RAM and graphics card.
You really need 2 GB of RAM if you want your computer to perform, especially if you've got Vista. As to the graphics card, the 8600 GTS is made obsolete by the 8800 GT and the Radeon HD3850. The HD3850 is in the same price class, but outperforms the 8600 GTS with ease.

Also an 80 GB hard drive? That is a surprisingly small hard drive and I'd recommend you to avoid one that is that small. Hard drives are quite inexpensive these days and you shouldn't settle for anything less than 200 GB.

This is a computer that is pre-assembled right? You should look into assembling it yourself of components of your choosing, it is definately worth your time and energy, because that way you can get an computer that is built according to your needs.

Good processor, everything else is gimped, as AG explains. A lot of manufacturers figure consumers will look at two things: proc speed and price. So they slap in the best processor, and skimp on all the subsystems to keep the price down and the profits high. This looks like that sort of PC.

I noticed it in a local computer shop and wondered if it was a good deal. I will however wait until the geforce 9 series comes out sometime next year and probably build one myself.
