View Full Version : Why it is not wise to kick the holy chickens
Happened to me just recently. One might wonder what the histories of Rome will give for reason for why this happened :stupido:

It was a full-stack to begin with besieging Bononia. Not much left exactly, well just to get a new army and try again ~;p

Get the fix from Bovi's fix-thread and that will never ever happen. Or, if I put it the other way, the Romans do deserve this divine punishment...:laugh4:
I think it still could happen with the fix. Notice that some soldiers still live. The fix only makes it so not 100% die.

yep, happened to me today:furious3:
Time for reload, I would say.
Why do desasters never strike on my Peninsula? Only 2 floods, one in Hispania and another one somewhere near the alps. Guess i have to wait another half century. Hum, not sure if there was vulcanic eruption in this campaign. Well, nvm...

Strange how my Arverni haven't gotten any heavy punishment from the gods yet, only one plague in 40 years of campaigning. o.O It's almost scary. Are they saving up? I control Italy...

So far the gods have been very angry with the Koinon Hellenon who against all treaties still have a mini (by now reduced to 9 unit soldiers from what originally were hughe numbers) army just west of my Kydonia! (Two earthquakes have hit exactly where that stack was standing you see...)
Apart from the occasional earthquake (surprisingly little given the amount and location of the territory I rule), I've seen only two plagues or so and a flash flood in enemy territory.

I've seen several lethal earthquakes and an eruption of Mount Vesuvius practically wiped Capua off the map.
the weird thing about earthquakes is that it almost never damages any buildings while human loses are enormous, almost entire stacks get wiped out:inquisitive: if no buildings have been damaged how on earth you get so many folks killed? perhaps tonning human loses down could represent consequances more accurately?

I've always wondered this...maybe all the soldiers fell and impaled themselves on their..ugh..spears?

i wander if some building damage can also be modded in to balance things out.
Just after i started writing my "Rise of Makedonia" AAR my only army with my promising young faction heir and another noob general i was using as heavy cavalry were in a fort outside of Thermon, ready to besiege the city on the next turn. There was an earthquake RIGHT on top of the fort, the fort itself was rising up and down on the earth, yet the entire army remained completely intact, not a single death. My two family members though, not so lucky. Both died tragically.

Hahah, that's some luck.
I mean, out of the army of several thousands, the two people to die are the generals.

the Wrath of Chuck Norris aka Mars. They should have offered a bull instead of a chicken as sacrifice.:fortune:
I had one of these earthquakes too. Gladly My enemy also had a full-stack, so instead of fighting a 3000 men vs 2500 men it became something like 400 vs 350 :D

OMG those soldiers must have not only kicked the holy chickens but eaten them as a starter before roasted holy geese and then laid with vestal priestesses. :beam:

I doesn't kill any of your civillians. And your reporter doesn't take into account what others might suffer, really.
