favorite mod!

I think we all have have games on the shelf that we liked but never got deeper into the community for this peticular game and therefore may be unaware of existing modifications that could make us play this game again.

It would be nice if you could offer a short description of what is altered, new features, screenshots and why you like it. Oh, and a link to the homepage or thread, of course.

Summary: If you liked Seadogs or Pirates!, you´ll love this mod, it captures the pirate theme perfectly. Yarrrrrrrrr!

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines

Name: The True Patch for VtN:B (originally posted by Kevkit Irae)

Link: Direct Download Link (http://www.tessmage.com/downloads/True_VTMB_504AT.zip)

You've probably already heard of the 'Unofficial Patch' by Wesp if you're into VtM:B. However, this has degenerated into a craptastic mod that modifies core gameplay. This would be all right... except this is supposed to be a PATCH, not a MOD. Tessera's "True Patch" does what the "Unofficial Patch" does not: actually fixed the game without touching any other aspect (you know, like a patch should be), rather than being forced to live with a blood buff that only increases your stats by +2.
This is THE must-have "mod" for VtM:B.

Edit: Oh, I don´t think I need to mention EB at the .org, right? ~D

There are a lot more (adult body/skin) mods by Tess that I use, particularly for Oblivion, so it would be worth checking out. I'm (obviously) not allowed to link it here, so just google "tessmage".

Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries' MekPak 3 from Mektek:

http://www.mektek.net/joomla/index.php

The NBT Hardcore mod is also quite good in a more traditional BattleTech way, and can be installed side by side with MekPak 3:

Both mods are still being updated and played on a regular basis.

I remember MechWarrior 4 having expansion Mech packs sold at the various gamestores. One for the Clans and the other for Inner Sphere. They are uber-rare now, unfortunately.
But I still loves me some classic BattleTech.

Will have a look, thanks again. Oh, and I need a ricola, too :stunned:

Edit: Hm, when this thread gets a few more contributions, i´m going to update my first post with all the mods mentioned so far. Perhaps a "I´m searching a mod for *insert game here*" list would be a nice idea, too.

Yeah, the Microsoft Mech Packs, the official ones, are rare now, at least to own the box. I bought both of them (Had to have that Hunchback!) and still have them, but I'm fairly sure that NBT Hardcore unlocks them for everyone.

Can you install mods over the standard version of MW4 or only over the Mercenaries thing? :inquisitive:

Anyway, you forgot some for OFP, or shall I say tons? I didn't play OFP for quite a while but this guy called Kegetys IIRc made some awesome stuff, maybe I can find it.... [5 secs later] ok, that was easy. :beam:
You can find his stuff here (http://www.kegetys.net/ofp/index.php?p=others), I recommend especially the DXDLL file with the reflective water etc.
The DKM mod (http://dkm.gotf.net/downloads.asp) people also made some great stuff and then there are some of the bigger mods like the BWMod etc. which I didn't really follow to be honest as they rarely released something finite. :sweatdrop: Maybe they have some full package by now.

For Wings over Europe there are also tons of individual downloads, you could check Column5's site (http://www.column5.us/aircraft.shtml) (don't forget the Mirage Factory section (http://www.column5.us/miragef.shtml)) and then check CombatACE (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?automodule=downloads&showcat=2) and the Marcfighters page (http://marcfighters.combatace.com/). That should be enough for now. There was also this guy who made a custom cockpit for the F-111 but I'm not gonna look for that now. ~;)

MW4: Vengeance and Black Knight aren't compatible with the Mektek Mekpaks, you need MW4: Mercenaries, which was a Microsoft expansion. You can find it for $10 in a lot of bargain bins. Hardcore also requires Mercenaries, but I think one of the other NBT mods is for Black Knight.

Ouch. Dxdll added, totally forgot that one and the OFP Launcher, thanks Husar. I only mentioned the mods that ive played extensivly and dont overwhelm a (new) OPF player, otherwise the list would have 30 or more entries. Just looking at the 20+ gigs of mods I have gives me a headache ~D

Take Command - Second Manassas
Horse and Musket:

http://www.madminutegames.com/MadMinuteBB/viewforum.php?f=22

Basically it is a complete overhaul of the game to bring it into the Napoleonic Era (The game is a Realistic Civil War Tactical Simulation). I am a member of the team, so am somewhat biased, but it is one of only a few Tactical Napoleonic games out there and is truly epic in scale.
