In version 1.0 I started with Sauromatae then Sweboz both with long load times between turns and at startup. I just started a new campaign today playing Koinon Hellenon and it seems the load times have been cut in half, could the faction you are playing have an effect on your load times?

I have not done any changes to my computer and it is a 2.5 year old AMD 64, 2.4 GHZ, 512 MB Ram so it is an older computer but it was, in its youth, a better then average computer. As long as I play with large unit size and most video option on low or medium it runs pretty quick, load times for battles about 1.5 min and startup about 3 min, end turns 2 min. But since the campaign I started today the load times have been cut to 25 to 50% quicker.

Has anyone else had any experiences like this with certain factions where load times are quicker depending on the faction you are playing or could this be a fluke?

I'm still on my first campaign of 1.0 so can't compare speed with different factions. But one thing I have noticed is that things seemed to have sped up after 20-30 years when a lot of the Eleuthoroi settlements had been eaten up by nearby factions, and when a few factions had bitten the dust entirely. Not sure if that's related (or even true), but that's just how it seems to me!

Has anyone else found that?

BTW my set-up sounds similar, and I found that getting extra RAM made a fair bit of difference to game speed. Getting a new computer would be nice (I wish), but in the meantime you could look at doing that.
