View Full Version : My Thureophoroi have a bulls-eye on them

This is my first EB game with a phalanx faction and I'm noticing a few weird AI things fighting a battle. One thing is that the enemy slingers appear to focus-fire on only my thureophoroi and no other units. In .81 it was better when they attacked my missile units and skirmishers. Anybody know of a workaround?

With the v1.5 patch the AI missile targeting got smarter, ignoring heavily armored units and skirmishers and actually going after something of value it can kill. I don't know why there would be a difference between EB08x and EB10, though.

That could be it. I might be noticing it more since I'm not Rome and mobile infantry aren't my whole army.
One thing that really annoys me about enemy slingers/archers now is that as soon as you rutn a units' back to them they automatically fire into its back causing huge casualties. As for my own archers/slingers, they're dumb as hell. I put them on fire at will and all they fire at are phalanxes, causing absolutely no casualties whatsoever.

I know that sucks because now phalanxes are hard to kill for instance:Playing as
Saba all you HAVE are Range and medicore inf., while Phalanxes have some kinda
weird invisible shield wall once had full stack of cretan Archers fire with fire arrows at a Elite phalanx:skull: it caused ONE death:wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:
Now I use phalanxes cheaply, hiding behind them and even if there surrounded it takes some kinda miracle to make them rout namely cavalry:whip:
