Historically, which prevails Avernai or Adeui?

I'm reading from the other posts that the Adeui are "legitimate." But on the EB coins section, Vercingetorx was an Avernai leader...so would that mean the Avernai are the ones who survived to fight Caesar?

Neither. One faction allied with Rome and the other the Swabians. In the end both were consumed by Rome at the same time. However, I think there was a claim that before these factions emerged there was a great kingship (Bren?) that had united much of Gaul for a short period? Someone here should know better, I must get sleep now, latter.

If only they'd worked together to conquer the other tribes they could have got some kind of joint-leadership thing going on, kinda like when the Roman empire was split 3 ways.

The Aedui were supposed to be the dominant force, but if Caesar is to be believed, they were beaten at Magetobriga by the Swabian/Arverni/Sequani coalition. The Aedui regained apparent ascendancy by aligning themselves with the eventual winners of the Gallic Wars, who pounded all the other tribes that didn't. Verceingetorix was an Arverni chief, but it does not mean that only the Arverni survived to fight Rome. Vercingetorix merely provided the leadership for a huge coalition of tribes to join together and fight.

Neither prevailed, per se, because neither survived as an independent entity past Alesia. Even the Aedui joined in Vercingetorix's rebellion in the end, if I recall my reading of Bello Gallico.

^ Excellent, on to recreate the Gallic Wars:

Highly trained Post-Marian Roman Cohorts VS masses of poorly trained Gallic levy farmers/peasants

All things considered, Caesar and his men barely held out against the last Gallic assault.

IIRC from the many times this has come up, Roma Victrix is the correct conjugation.
