Worst timing of a CTD

I mean... I just had to let it out... I'was just playing a HUGE battle with the Seleucids against the Ptoly... I mean... 2 elite armys... I had an army with the agryaspides(both tipes), Elephants, Chariots, Cataprachs, Tindatoe( or whatever) + other solid units like phalangites, thureoporoi etc.... I mean... A Dream army.
The ptolys had a 2 general army, Elite phalanxes, 3 units of basilikon agema, elite ptoly cavalry, lots of Thorakitai, Thureoporoi, galatians, really an army combined in such a way that even a human would be proud...

So the battle starts, they're crushing my center slowly but shurely since i play on VH/VH, but then i managed to get in the most crushing elephant charge, that routed 6 units when it came, at the same time the catas also routed their general,... i glourious day i thought..... and what hapens?

the STUPID computer decides it's time to notify me that my antivirus programe is about to expire in a week!!!!!!!! I mean WTF!!!!!????!!!!:furious3: .... And of course i click notify me i a week but the damage is already done.... The game won't reload since it takes so much of my laptop, and the greatest charge in my TW career(5 years at least) never happend...

In my rage i screamed so loud an hit the desk that the computer almost fell and my cousin almost had a stroke!:oops:

So i just had to let it out of my.... I'm wondering if anyone else has a simmilar expirience.... It's really frustrating when an hour of your day is ruined like this, especially when you have a busy schedule and should probably do sth else then to play video games:laugh4:

That's the worst part.... if it would be EB i would be pissed but i would understand since the mod would be god-like if it wouldn't have this little mistakes.... but not like this... not like this....:furious3:

This was an EB crash, I get a lot of them when playing as Saka. I was pissed, to say the least.

In my experience it is often worthwhile not to click the "okay, yeah I saw it and I am happy" icon immediately - but wait a while and then click it. At least such CTD's only ever happen when I click the box upon appearing: when I do not but wait a while I never see such things happening.

i know precisely how you feel, happened tp me a couple of times. in the end i unistaled Norton all together, too heavy anyway, and got AVG free version also canceling automatic updates download.

wow thats pretty good you play on vh/vh. i tried that once in vanilla as the selicuids and a group of archers repulsed my elephant charge, so i never tried that again.

You darned poor thing, my sympathies. You've had a terrible time, you and the Saka guy both. Terrible luck. o.O But at least, it happened. :)

Tellos i use the same policy about not pressing the OK buttons really quick. But is this suppose to happen? Do you have any clues why?

Of course its not supposed to crash. Why would they do that?

I suppose it helps because it gives the cmputer a little but more time to "think things through"

ouch- i had a situation in BI where i defeated a 3-stack Frank horde with just 1 stack of eastern romans- then a crash when i clicked "end turn". so i loaded it up again, and i happened again. and again. and again. so i cheated and moved my army and the frankish army to a different location, and auto-resolved the battle, then the CTD didnt happen anymore.
