Video Problem....Flicker and Fade

Anyone else experiencing this:

During battles and at the end of battles, suddenly the screen will sort of Flicker and Fade In and Out all at the same time.

I thought this was a driver problem (and still may be), but now that I have the very latest drivers its still occurring.

Pausing and Alt-Tab always restores the screen and I can continue the battle.

Anybody else? Anyone else with a Radeon? Anyone else with an All-In-Wonder?

I think I'm going to try going online---this can't continue.

Any of the Catalyst drivers cause probs with MTW. Try using the most recent non-catalyst driver. For WinXP this is 6071, I don't know the driver version for 98 or 2000.

That should solve any video problems you are having.

This very thing happened to me. i have an ati radeon 7000 card. i reached the time limit on a battle ansd when i clicked on ok after viewing the end of battle report - the screen went crazy - with flicker and if i moved my cursor - it left ghost cursors all over the screen. i pressed esc and this resolved the problem - but this is a bit alarming.

I too have a Radeon 7000 and have the exact same problem. Before I upgraded it I got a out of viedo memory message. But now it flicker and fade, I use alt-Tab then go back in game so I can end the battle.

It happen about every 10-15 minute in the battle. Its very disturbing if its a very large battle.

Is there any solution to this problem or do we need to buy other video card

major - i never have that many probs - only that once so far. what is a huge Battle ? I have had mx 16 units on map and they often dont have more than 60-100 men each

Major, I direct you back to my post above. Any of the Radeon drivers prior to the Catalyst versions will run MTW perfectly. There is no need to change cards, just change drivers.

ATI 'broke' something in the Catalyst drivers. They're aware of it & will hopefully sort it out in the next release.

Couscous thanks, I missed that, but im running on ME and thats no help for me I´ll try other drivers.

Green knight you cant have more then 16 unit per faction, I ment if u and the A.I. have another 50 units, or even more, much more, just waiting till they can get into fight. Then its a big battle and will take a long time to fight, hours if Im unlucky.
