I’ve been playing MTW for about 3 weeks now on expert, and believe the reoccurring factions are too weak.
Originally, that was one of the reasons I bought the game. I like the idea of playing out a dynasty from the rise to the fall rather than conquering the world. I like the idea of old and new factions encroaching on your empire.
The problem is that even with advanced units and large amounts of money, I find the reoccurring factions are unable to assert themself as a real threat. Usually what happens is: they appears in territories that have already been decimated, over extend themself too quickly making a lot of enemies, lingers for a while, and dies out only to comes back again 10 years later.
I personally, just create neutral buffer states where I know a new faction will rise and just leave them there to fester when they do. On the rare occasion they do attack me, their rookie troops and king are usually facing my 7-9 star generals and well-experienced troops and are easily routed.
I know they are planning to weaken reoccurring faction units in the patch, but I would prefer they were an actual challenge, rather than a minor nuisance.
I believe that they should strengthen the reoccurring faction (at least on expert in GA). I think that the new king should have high command, valor and morale. There should be an increase in high morale units. They should have faster build times in provinces that only have low-tech buildings.
Just my opinion.
