I've used EB 1.0 for more than a week now, and in my experience there are lots of CTD after the end of a battle, surely many more than in previous versions. The good thing is I haven't suffered any CTD excluding battle CTD, but these are a lot (really a lot). Has anyone else got the same experience?

I think the post-battle CTD is a pretty well known issue. I've noticed that these kick in more after I've been playing a while - the first few battles I have in a session are fine but sooner or later a CTD will happen after a battle. I've always thought it was EB's way of telling me to go to bed...

Completly unscientific I know but it seems to me that there is a much increased level of hard drive activity during a battle which suffers from this. If the hard drive is whirring away during the fight, then a post battle CTD often follows. I'm going to try rebooting the system after every hour of play - if these post-battle CTDs are linked to how long the session is then this might go some way towards minmising them.

I had a CTD after the best heroic victory I've ever had. I haven't been able to play EB since then, it's too painful to think of what once was. Over 4000 kills and only about 150 casualties.

This pretty much says it.. almost like something is chomping on memory somewhere. First battle is usually really choppy (laggy) then it settles down for a while. After maybe 4-5 battles the risk of a CTD is getting very high. The larger/longer the battle the worse it gets. Definitely seems to be some sort of memory problem imho.

RTW is notorious for memory leak. Should only be a major problem if you have less than one gig, though.

Goolasso I had the same problem and one minor change in my "gaming policy" was never rush in pressing the "OK" button really fast after the end of any battle. Meaning i am giving the PC several second to do i dont know what and after that waiting i never had a CTD after the end of a battle. The above stated policy is used everywhere i have to press a button to procced to another phase. In an another thread i think Tellos Athenaios had the same "gaming policy" with the same success. I hope that was helpful.
