Today looked like a Good Day.
Downloaded EB 1.0 having finally got bored of .081, and began to prep for the new installation. I deleted everything to do with R:TW and EB, then even defragged both my drives to ensure all was ready. I read through pretty much everything on EB 1.0 here, until my Roming libido was absolutely slobbering with lust for the luscious loveliness awaiting my penetration of it's damp mysteries.
So I come to the reinstall R:TW step, and on disc 1, vocal3.dat it all grinds to a halt. I take the CD and can see what seems to be an indentation on it, though my probing fingers cannot detect anything but silky smoothness. I spend an hour working on the CD, patiently caressing and coaxing but it just doesn't want to play. There's frankly just no way I'm going to get it up.
So is there a workaround? I have the CDs and it works fine when checking the drive before firing up the game. Exploring the CD, there are loads of files on there, is there a way to manually unpack and install them and just replace anything that's damaged with something else, assuming it's just sound files?
Getting a new copy will be tricky as I live in Spain and have no postal system to be relied on. Is there a way to buy R:TW online? It'd have to be cheap - otherwise I'll just get M:TW2 and wait for EB2. Other option is if I can find a copy of R:TW locally it'll be in Spanish - does that cause any issues with EB?
Ta very much for any assistance.
