Hey, is anyone interested in doing a Multiplayer Tournament, just for fun? we could do a 4-person bracket, 8-person bracket, or 16 based on how many show interest. btw, i'm GMT - 6 so plan accordingly, this will probably only work for those in the Western Hemisphere. if someone wants to do an Eastern Hemisphere tournament that would be great.

I will host, but if there seems to be trouble finding a 4th, 8th, or 16th player, then i can fill in, or possibly even play if someone has to forfeit so you can still enjoy the fun.

Rules:

Medieval 2: Total War vanilla edition patch 1.2 will be used
10000 Florins for spending on your armies in any way you like (limit 4 artillery and 4 cavalry)
1v1 Battles only (but keep watch for a possible 2v2 team bracket)
The Main Grand Campaign factions only - no Rebels, Papal States, Aztecs, Mongols, or Timurids.
Each person must have a different faction and declare it in this thread prior to bracket arrangement.
Screenshots must be given by each player of their starting army and the endgame shot. That's 4 shots that need to be posted - 2 from each player.
Normal Unit Sizes
All Ages

As host, I shall select the map for each level.

Suggestions:

Name your general(s), and create a backstory. Write about them in the AAR thread and why they feel the ambition to be the winner of this tournament. Fun RPing...

Write AARs for your battles - let everyone watch and enjoy!

I've never played a MP game of MTWII, but if you get enough people I'm in. I'm east coast US (-5 GMT IIRC). You know you could tie it to a tournament in KotR or something if you wanted.

sweet! im thinking of changing the rules a bit cuz i know theres crazy awesome people like factionheir who can take like 2 cavalry and murder a full stack. the price limits may not be enough, im going to limit it to 4 artillery and 4 cavalry.

I would but I'm GMT so I'd only be able to play at inconvenient times.

Same here, being GMT + 1 ( plus without Internet on gaming PC)
