Hi All,

I'm a new EB fan so apologies for what might be a dumb question.

But I was wondering about the name/location of Segesta on the EB campaign map. According to some sources, Segesta was in Sicily, while the Segesta settlement on the EB campaign map looks like it might be Genoa.

Again, apologies if this is dumb.

As a newbie, I originally posted this query in the Entrance Hall, but thought I'd give it a punt here . . .

Hmm, I think I remember a thread about this a while back. I seem to remember that there was a city called Segesta in both Northern Italy and Sicily. Try a quick forum search. :2thumbsup:

Exactly. There appears to have been a Sicilian and a Ligurian Segesta. And at least the latter one was present in 272 BC.

Many thanks for these replies. I guess that clears it up - it seems the likeliest explanation.

Absolutely - that's the reason. We did have a thread on it a while back too, and I think I remember the guy just couldn't understand the concept of two places with the same name, even after a number of posts explained it. Thanks for being more reasonable JP!

Both of them were in existence at the time. And Sicilian Segesta was quite important. But it falls within Elimya (Wiki tells me it was the polical centre of the native Elymians) where rather more importantly we have Lilybeo.

Again, many thanks for clarifying this - it's great to have the forum as a resource for background info as well as tips on gameplay. Much appreciated!
