well the topic really says it all... what was medieval sieges withougt these things!! You manage to include them in the opening sequence, yet when i look in the manuel, i find that there is no such thing as a siege tower, let alone battering rams.

Now moving on for the defenders sake... where is that hot boiling oil that i can poor on my enemies, or where is the famour rear gate where i can send my forces out to rout the enemy rear?

and back to the attackers... Where is the chance to throw offal into thier castles, Antioch was won by the crusaders by doing such a thing....

please consider at least the seige towers idea if you choose to make an expansion

Your post makes me think of tenderized liver and onions fried in sunflower oil (dam im hungry)

Any way, yes it would be nice additions if it is possible as would men on the ramparts and ladders for over the top assaults but I dont think we will see this for mtw, hopfully the next one.

hehe.. you like your offal as well i see...

as for the siege weapons, simply breaking down a wall isnt enough these days... going over the top would have been good. Not to mention the use of ramparts for my handgunners

There are so many cool things that could be added to seiges. Somewhere on the forum there is a post from the devs about what they wanted to include & why they were unable to.

Here we go, it's a good read: www.totalwar.org/ubb/Forum7/HTML/001273.html (http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/Forum7/HTML/001273.html)

If you haven't played Stronghold, I recommend you get it. Think it'll be right up your street.

It's getting warm in here...that must be one hell of an INFERNO!

There's a BIG problem with Stronghold. Soldiers can tear down walls with swords and spears quickly without siege engines, at least in SP. They can walk right up to the wall and rip a breach into it. That completely destroys the game for me which is too bad because the rest of it is good stuff.

As for Medieval, battering rams would be neat and doable without too much trouble (I think http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif). Siege towers could possibly be introduced that move up to the walls and fire down into the garrison but not convey troops.

actually, there's an option in stronghold for realistic walls. only siege engines can damage them when you turn this on. makes it much more fun and realistic. if you're interesting in siege warfare, get that game. that simple.

battering rams would be good, possibly the best way to do them would be a high HP seige engine that is amost immune to arrows (not guns)
