I've managed to alter agents appearance on the campaign map by editing their textures, but I can't get their unit cards to change.
I have been editing the normans to an islamic faction. I removed the northern_ambassador from the normans folder and replaced it with the moors islamic_ambassador pic, and saved it in the norman folder.
However, I still get the old european version in the campaign game.
When altering the textures I had to alter a text file in addition to the image, but I can't find a text file for linking to agent ui, all the military units required was to name their unit cards after their 'type' from export_descr_unit, no fiddling with text files.
Any hints on this anyone???

As sanity check, did you rename islamic_ambassor to northern_ambassador after you copied it over?
Also, what is the culture of your normans in the descr_sm_factions?

I called it #islamic_ambassador.tga
Culture is set to middle_eastern

Try having this copy and another same copy but with the old name (northern) in that folder and see what happens.

Thats what I did first time, just showed the northern one.
I just tried renaming the modded image to norther_ambassador, but I still get the vanilla northern guy.:furious3:

Out of curiosity, are you talking unit card as in when you check them out in the recruitment screen or as in character portrait?

Just unpacked any file containing ambassador (*ambassador*.*)
In ther ui\normans\ folder, you should have:
#northern_ambassador.tga
ambassador.tga
northern_ambassador.tga
Now, if you look at the moor's folder, you will find:
#islamic_ambassador.tga
#southern_ambassador.tga
islamic_ambassador.tga
souther_ambassador.tga
So you likely will need all of those files in your normans folder.

Thanks for that info, I'll check it out...
EDIT: I deleted all the old northern ambassadors and replaced them with islamic ones, but I still magically get the northern guy in-game.
I'm beginning to wonder is it a culture thing. Even though I've changed the culture to islamic and the cities etc look islamic, my generals still have Norman voices, and I think its still the NE music in the campaign.

Thanks for the help, I got it sorted. Found a file that listed what the ui was to be called for each agent depending on culture, works in-game.:sweatdrop: :2thumbsup:
