View Full Version : Need more crazy!
I've been poking around the forums for a bit these past couple days, and have yet to find a solution for my "problem".
In all honesty, I need more "crazy" in my Romani campaign. All of my FM are pretty upstanding guys, not an interesting one in the lot of 'em.
Problem is, "give_trait" corresponds to the characters{edit} internal names, and if I wanted to add some "Not safe with man or beast" action, I can't. :furious3:
So is there any way to find these internal names?

look in the traits file in the data folder of EB
Woah! New record! A thread being bumped after no posts for a whole 18 minutes! :laugh4: Unless I'm missing something...
Umm, back on topic, I seem to remember it being very hard to find out Roman characters internal names, even to the point of using trial and error. I'm sure someone who knows what they're talking about can give you a better explanation though.

Here you are:
Actually the Roman characters have a dummy surname, Romanvs, which isn't displayed. Thus, someone named Titvs Fabivs Maximvs is internally Titvs Romanvs, and accounting for the plethora of other dummy names in the Roman name pool, he might as well have the first name TitvsA, TitvsB, TitvsC all the way up to TitvsK. So, trying to use console commands may be a bit futile :skull:
A bit futile is better than impossible.
So, what I'm gathering is that if I I were to type into the console
give_trait "Servivs A,B,C...etc Romanus" "trait" I would eventually get the right one?
Or is it far more complicated than that?

Actually,it would work. I've experimented giving Romani FMs general's stars and stuff so that they would pose more of a challenge against my Arverni.
The difficult part comes when you cross cultures. How the heck do you give traits to an Arverni captain who had been bribed, only to get a Roman Man of the Hour, then was bribed back again, and whose name is 'Morbhe Cornelius Blasio'? I have no idea how that works now since he doesn't have an original FM name.

More often that not on my Romani campaign I can give a trait to "Caivs Romanvs" but I often struggle to give a trait to any other "Caivs Romanvs" ie "CaivsA Romanvs", most of the time I can add all the way to "CaivsK" and it won't recognise it despite there being many people named Caivs.
Alright, so I tried adding "Popularis" as a test
(give_trait "Servivs Romanvs" "Popularis")
Apparently recognized the character, but when I went through my FM list, I looked at every Servivs on the list, and none of 'em got the trait.
Any ideas?

Don't wrap quotes around the name of the trait, specify trait levels.... :juggle:
