as an advance Christmas present my parents gave me a DVD holder so that I could get my collection organized.

I used to just have it stuffed away in one of my bedroom´s closets and when I wanted to get a dvd that was in the back I had to remove the entire collection to get to it...MAJOR PAIN IN THE ASS!!!

So now I have it all pretty and organized in one easy to reach place, right at the entrance of my bedroom.

Monetary price of this collection - I don´t want to think about it...it makes my wallet...errr...heart hurt.

Price in terms of damage to my social life of this collections - incalculable, I mean....there had to be a reason why I don´t have a girlfriend.

Having this be the first thing you see when you open the door to my bedroom?

******* PRICELESS!!!!!!!

P.S.1 - **** that´s a lot more DVDs then it looked like when they were inside the closet.....no point in denying that I´m a geek now when people see this.

P.S.2 - I need a new hobby.....or a girlfriend or something... :D

If you give me that McGuyver collection, I may try to convince my sister that she should go out with you. She used to be a gymnast (silver medal European championship trampoline) you know, she is worth something.*

*this has nothing do do with me trying to get rid of her.

On both pictures I notice the "Shogun" DVD box that I also have on my shelf.

I guess members of a TW-board are somewhat predictable :laugh4:

It ends rather abruptly though, but great yeah. It should be noted that Ronin's collection isn't the collection of Doom but the collection of slight discomfort, none of my other series are there now, Band of brothers, al the lost, Rome 1&2, the kingdom danish and american, Oz 1 2 and 3, Heimat 1 2 and 2 and many many more movies, at least 1 meter extra.

Fun in a Dan Brown kinda way, it goes down rather easily.

It was once a truism that you can tell much about a man by his library (of books). Did that cross over to a man's DVD collection?

If so, I'm in trouble... 50% of mine (maybe more) are kid-oriented, due to the 5 year old grandson - lots of animation: Shrek, Spiderman, etc. 40% is pop-action-comedy for the missus, and about 10% "my" stuff.

About 300 discs altogether in the house. We've started packing them (without cases) in soft-page binders, and debating on whether to file alphabetically, or by category, or both.

Heh. Dewey Decimal wars. :laugh4:

I'll see if I can get some of my family's DVD racks up here. I think it amounts to about what you have, perhaps a bit more.

I have 7 movie DVDs, one of them was a present. ~D

Quite impressive racks you have there, most of mine is made up of games.

In case anyone cares, my 7 DVDs are:
The Tuxedo - that's the present
Black Hawk Down - first one I bought
Last Samurai
Kingdom of Heaven
King Arthur (horse armour :2thumbsup: )
Seven Samurai
RAN

I thought I was just going crazy, but now someone spoke up! Either we're both nuts:dizzy2::dizzy2: or someone is into cinematic self-depravation.
