Hey Guys,
Im curious... If a Faction Leader and a Faction Heir get killed in the same turn (either in seperate battles, or a single one) what happens?

Does it just automatically pick a new Leader and Heir from the remaining family members, or does the whole country become whoever killed them's territories, or the remaining family members battle it out amongst themselves.... OR....the whole country implode leaving a smoking crater where the defeated Leader dies :beam:

Anyone Killed a Factions legacy in one foul swoop?

A new faction leader is picked by the AI -- even if he came of age a single turn before or was only just bribed into the new faction.

Only when all of-age family members are dead does the faction go.

I got killed my Leader and my Heir in the same turn, and there is a simple error, there is a message: "New Faction Leader", but when you click the little scroll at the left to see the traits and ancillaries, it won't do nothing at all.

I managed to nearly wipe out an entire faction's family all at once - this was as the Scipii fighting against Numidia.

The AI had one city left, with all six family members residing inside it. Since it was along time ago, I don't quite remember exactly what happened, but I think that I managed to kill all but one of the family members. The family member who survived was called "Syphax".

Despite Syphax's survival, I won the city and occupied it - since it's population was ridiculously low already I didn't think extermination or enslavement was worth it.

Five turns later, the city angrily revolted after I foolishly disbanded my entire garrison with the aim of increasing the town's population.

Anyhow, when my army of legions walked across the desert to take it back, who should I find leading the rebel forces but dear old Syphax himself. This time I did manage to massacre him in the ensuing battle, hopefully ensuring that he never would return to pester my forces again.

Kwl. I'm participating in the Roman Civil War at the minute. I have modded my files to remove "superfaction" and set all Romans to "at war" with each other. Pretty cool, my julii have nearly exterminated the SPQR, getting attacked twice or more each turn, they have only got one family member left, Brutii and Scipii are fighting like dogs aswell :2thumbsup:
