hi everyone,

i've asked so many questions and have had them all answered so a big thank you to everyone who has helped me out.

my own little personal mod is ready (ill only play this) except I just want to clarify 2 things

where are the portraits for spies, assassins and diplomats found?

how do I edit the names? I downloaded another mod, and want to use the names of the generals and family members from that mod in my RTW vanilla 1.5 I tried to copy all the names and paste but I get CTD on the campaign loading, I tried the methods written out here in the tutorials but they all get CTD.

more help please!

Here we go again :)

If you have already unpacked .pak's - then in Data\UI\ROMAN\PORTRAITS\PORTRAITS\YOUNG_or_OLD\ROGUES;
for greek portraits go to GREEK folder, etc..

Names are in Data/descr_names.txt and Data/text/names.txt;
probably you're getting CTD's because you have vanilla names in your descr_strat - so you need to alter them all there as well...

1 question: like portraits, do the number of names have to be the same?
like in portraits if you have 84, you need to replace 84, but you cant have less/more than the 84 that is there by default.

so is that the same for the names?

so if I paste in all the info from descr_names.txt, names.txt and descr_strat.txt from one file and overwrite the vanilla one it'll work?

descr_strat looks.. complicated to find the relevant areas because of all the relative, etc..

Of course it won't work if you past whole DS, another way you can do this is to add new names to needed factions in descr_names and translate in text/names.txt (without deleting previous entries ). you'll have old names and new ones appear later;
That should work hopefully...

I hate messing with names in DS too..
